Swanni's 2006 'Best & Worst' HDTV list - now here is the best

Yesterday, we brought you Philip Swanni's Worst Celebrity in HDTV listing and today, here now here is the best. Starting out this year is the stunning Scarlett Johansson followed by the almost equally breathtaking Beyonce Knowles. Evangeline Lily and Josh Holloway, both of Lost fame, hit the list at three and four but Eva Longoria holds down number five desperately strong. Charlize Theron rings in at number six followed by Christina Aguilera at lucky number seven. Elizabeth Hasselbeck represents The View on this list at number eight while Ben Affleck somehow made it onto the list at number nine. Number ten is Martha Stewa...what? There has to be someone better looking then Martha Stewart to finish Swanni's Best & Worst list. How about the two My Name is Earl babes, Jamie Pressly or Nadine Velazquez to name two better candidates then the jail bird Stewart.

Swanni's 2006 'Best & Worst' HDTV list - lets start with the worst

Each year, Philip Swann compiles the best and worst looking celebs in the high-def world. Teri Hatcher was number one last year but thankfully for her sake, Rosie O'Donnell joined The View right when the show made the transition to HD. The Shock Jock himself, Howard Stern, brook his way into the list at number two followed by the still desperate Teri Hatcher and the living proof that money cannot buy beauty after two kids and a dead-beat hubby, Britney Spears. Rosie's fellow cast member Barbara Walters hit number five hard followed by Burt Reynolds at number six and another View host The Today Show host, Meredith Vieira at number seven. The last three on this years list isn't that big of a surprise with Madonna at number eight, Mick Jagger at number nine and Ray Liotta of CBS's new crime drama Smith, holding down the number ten spot.

Hitachi @ CEDIA - Worst looking rear-projection at the show?

We are going to step out on a limb here and state that Hitachi's VS69 line of LCD rear-projections are the worst looking HDTVs at the show. These models are in the Ultravision line as well and they simply do not look good at all. They are grainy, have inconsistent color and exhibiting screen-door effect like there is no tomorrow. We are sorry to say that it's almost laughable how bad the image is; it's like you are looking at a first-gen rear-projection. Are we being too critical? Perhaps, but don't ya think Hitachi would set a minuim picture quality to bring to a show like this? Man they are bad. If you are at the EXPO and in need of a laugh, swing by the Hitachi booth. Now, their new 42-inch 1080p plasma is a whole 'nother story. More on that to come.
