What we're watching: It's 7/7/07, and we've got ongoing Live Earth HDTV coverage on Universal HD all night, with a few hours on NBC as well. NASCAR's Pepsi 400 brings night racing from Daytona to TNT and Miami Vice hits Cinemax at 10.
What we're watching: An Orange Bowl matchup of Wake Forest and Louisville probably wasn't what we expected at the beginning of the season but it should definitely be a good game to watch. HDNet features Russian Ark, a trip through Russian history filmed all in one continuous shot. Just to round things out, Cinemax has Tremors and Tremors II on deck starting at 8:15 p.m.
What we're watching: Happy New Year, and for us the highlight of the day is in just a few minutes when Michigan takes on USC in the Rose Bowl on ABC, but later on tonight we've also got the Fiesta Bowl featuring Boise State and Oklahoma. Not into football? Never fear, with three episodes of Heroes on NBC, a Northern Exposure marathon on Universal HD and Brokeback Mountain on HBO-HD there should be a suitable option for your HDTV viewing pleasure. Let's hope the rest of 2007 is as well-stocked with HD goodness as today is.
What we're watching: If the Jim Carrey remake of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas didn't satisfy, check out the 40th Anniversary edition of the original tonight on ABC. Also premiering tonight is Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride: Hunter S. Thompson On Film, featuring Nick Nolte as the narrator of this documentary on Starz HD. If you didn't get enough sports this year, be sure to take a look at SportsCenter's Year in Review on ESPN-HD.
What we're watching: We just didn't get enough of The Closer this summer so a special two hour episode tonight is just what the doctor ordered. Monday Night Football is also a must watch, if not for the game between the still-playoff-possible Panthers and Eagles, for the Halo 3 ad that is to air during the event. We haven't confirmed if the ad will be broadcast in HD on ESPN, but it will be available for download in high definition afterward via Xbox Live.
