Suddenlink adds three more HD channels in Muskogee, OK

We'll give you precisely one guess as to which three HD channels Suddenlink has added in Muskogee, OK. Done searching? Try The Learning Channel HD (756), Discovery Channel HD (757) and Animal Planet HD (758) -- the same exact trio that it recently pushed to Lubbock, Texas and Arkansas. We had a hunch these three were in for a pretty big ride, so here's hoping even more Suddenlink regions see 'em in the not-too-distant future.

AT&T takes Total Home DVR to five more U-verse locales

Another day, another round of U-verse Total Home DVR rollouts. This time, the good news is being bestowed upon residents of Columbus, Flint, Kansas City, Lubbock and Oklahoma City, giving each of the areas the ability to watch HD / SD DVR recordings on other connected TVs in the home. Here's hoping AT&T takes care of the rest of y'all in short order -- we're eager for some more U-verse TV expansion, as nice as this update is and all.

Oklahoma City's Ford Center upping HD abilities

Haven't you heard? The Seattle SuperSonics are packing up and heading down to Oklahoma -- er, sort of, anyway. Said franchise will have to be renamed once situated in Oklahoma City's Ford Center, but whatever they end up being called, they'll surely be looking sharp on television. Reportedly, said arena will be getting an overhaul that will focus on improving the lighting and "capabilities for broadcasting games in high-definition." Eventually, management is hoping to pour some $100 million into renovating the venue, with the project mentioned here to suck up around $450,000 of that. There's no mention of details just yet (they're still waiting for bids), but fans of the to-be team will certainly want to tune in to see just how impressive the end results are.

AT&T's U-verse scoots into Tulsa, Oklahoma

Look out Cox -- a new competitor just rolled into town, and it's rolling in on fiber. AT&T has just announced the launch of U-verse in Tulsa, Oklahoma, bringing high-speed internet, digital phone and fiber-based television programming (2 HD / 2 SD included) to one of OK's largest cities. As of right now, the service can be ordered by select customers in Tulsa, Jenks and Owasso, and while AT&T isn't handing out a timetable, it is stating that U-verse services will be made available to "more homes throughout the area on an ongoing basis." So, anyone going to give it a shot?

Cox brings another handful of HD channels to Oklahoma

Just two months after Oklahoma City and Tulsa received a new trio of high-def channels from Cox Communications, a new six-pack has found its way onto the on-deck circle. Based on an updated HD channel lineup for both of the aforementioned cities, residents can expect Sci-Fi HD (752), Lifetime HD (759), Bravo HD (763), CNBC (784), Weather Channel HD (785) and USA HD (732) to arrive in short order. Sadly, we're not sure exactly what day to expect the new half dozen, but hopefully "Coming Soon" is just hours (rather than days, weeks or months) away.

Allegiance Communications rolls out array of HD channels

Though Allegiance Communications may not be known very well nationally, we're sure mid-sized markets in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Texas are quite familiar with the name. Nevertheless, said cable carrier has reportedly just "completed the first phase of channel additions for 2008," and there's definitely some HD love mixed in. According to Oklahoma's Tecumseh Countywide News, local residents can now access A&E HD, HGTV HD, Food Network HD, National Geographic HD and Starz HD on channels 972, 973, 975, 976 and 974, respectively. Better still, the outfit has also promised that ESPN2 HD will be joining the fold in the coming months, and just in case that still wasn't enough, subscribers can look forward to Chiller, Fox Business HD and RFD HD showing up in the not-too-distant future. Not bad for a rural carrier, huh?

Tulsa's NBC affiliate (KJRH) becomes first in Oklahoma with HD news

For those that call Tulsa, Oklahoma home and are sick and / or tired of tuning into SD newscasts each night, you finally have a better option. Effectively immediately, residents in the Tulsa area can now point their antenna to the region's NBC affiliate (KJRH Channel 2) and receive news in high-definition. Best of all, the station will be broadcasting all of its news -- 28 hours worth per week -- in HD, and if you really want to know how lucky you are, the next closest station(s) to Tulsa to do the same are in Dallas, Texas. Enjoy, Tulsans.

Cox Oklahoma adding HGTV, Travel Channel, and Food Network in HD

Just last summer, AT&T rolled its U-verse service into Oklahoma City and threw the ball back in Cox's court. Now, the latter is beefing up its own lineup ever so slightly in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Starting on February 12th, subscribers in both regions will purportedly be able to tune into HGTV HD, Travel Channel HD and Food Network HD on channels 737, 744 and 745. We know -- you all were wishing for a few more than three, but hopefully it's just a sign of things to come, eh?
