The writing was all over the wall, but now it's in stone. Parent company iNDEMAND has confirmed in a statement that MOJO HD is fixing to cease as we know it. More specifically, it states that MOJO HD was "originally conceived as a way to satisfy consumers' thirst for pure true high-definition programming," and while the channel "accomplished this goal, there is a wealth of HD programming now available and thus we have chosen to discontinue the service." To be frank, we're not exactly sure what to make of this comment. Is it saying it'd rather bow out than engineer new, unique programming to boost ratings now that HD content is more accessible? Or is this just some canned response used to appease the masses? Whatever the case, we'll miss you MOJO, and here's hoping Zane Lamprey and Three Sheets finds another television home (and fast).
Oregon Comcast users to lose MOJO, gain a few others in December
It looks as if the last sliver of hope for MOJO HD has vanished, as we're now facing yet another report pounded out in the all-telling black and white that spells out MOJO's demise. A recent bill sent to an Oregon Comcast subscriber explained that MOJO HD would be falling off of the EPG "on or after December 1st," although SPEED HD (723), Versus HD (732), Golf HD (733), FOX News HD (748) and FX HD (753) would be added. Interestingly, this also points out the separation of Versus / Golf HD as a single station, though we're unsure if this will end up being a sweeping change or simply a localized one.

MOJO HD gets canceled, should vanish by year's end
Man, what a bummer. It's fairly apparent that those rumors we heard late last month are now proving true, much to our own chagrin. In a recent electronic filing by the Department of Public Utility Control in Connecticut, we're told quite plainly that MOJO HD's regularly scheduled programming will cease on October 29th, 2008. Granted, this specifies that it will no longer be available to Cox customers alone, but the attached footnote is where things get really grim. It states that parent company iN DEMAND "has announced that it will be canceling its MOJO HD regularly scheduled programming by the end of the year, but it will continue to provide OnDEMAND programs." Is this really the end of Three Sheets and I Bet You as we know them? Pardon us while we shed a tear.

Is MOJO HD on the verge of shutting down?

MOJO's A Shot at Glory profiles US Olympic athletes
If you haven't seen enough behind-the-scenes footage in the run-up to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing (or you just don't subscribe to AT&T's U-verse TV for whatever reason), MOJO is hoping to give you even more just prior to the start of the Games in August. Reportedly, the network will begin airing a 10-part weekday series on July 28th at 9:00PM ET / PT in which US Olympic athletes are profiled and interviewed in order to give the general public a look at what it takes to compete at the highest level. One of our favorites is getting set to come back for Season 3, and needless to say, our HD DVRs are already queued up to capture it all. USA TODAY LIVE partners with MOJO HD, Versus for series-based programming
Though many of you may not be familiar with the "television arm of the USA TODAY brand," USA TODAY LIVE is announcing a new partnership with the likes of MOJO HD and Versus (and Fuse, for what it's worth) in order to pump out a smorgasbord of series-based programming in 2008. Up first is City Limits Fishing, a six-part weekly series (starting February 15th) on Versus that highlights world class fishing spots within some of America's most bustling cities. If that's not your bag, you can check out the ten-part Gotta Get Gold series on MOJO HD (starting July 28th), which concentrates on "what it takes to train and to compete at the highest levels in athletics." For more details on each show as well as what's available through Fuse, hit up the read link below.[Via TVover]
MOJO HD presenting Three Sheets: NYC Pub Crawl on New Year's Eve
It's a tough call. Do you tune into a sure-to-be-fantastic Hitchcock marathon on New Year's Eve? Or do you flip over and see how Zane Lamprey handles hitting up the NYC pub circuit? Personally, we'd let the dual-tuner HD DVR solve the aforementioned quandary, but if you're a Three Sheets fanatic, you can tune in at 9:00PM EST on December 31st to catch a three-hour special of the program. As expected, the well-traveled Lamprey will be shuffled around in the heart of New York as he searches for the best pubs the city can offer. Though, it's really a shame this doesn't run on the 30th in order to give you time to put his findings to work the next night, now isn't it?
Mojo's original programming heads over to Amazon Unbox
Hot on the heels of Mojo's decision to add more finance-based programming to its 2008 lineup comes word that the network's original content will be made available through Amazon Unbox. Apparently, the two outfits worked things out so that Unbox users can now get ahold of After Hours with Daniel, Three Sheets, King of Miami, Dr. Danger, Uncorked with Billy Merritt and Wall Street Warriors, and you can expect Pressure Cook and Test Drive to be added soon. Per usual, each episode is $1.99, and they all look to be live right now for those interested.

Mojo Money Night promises more finance-based programming in 2008
Those who felt strangely compelled to watch Wall Street Warriors religiously will be stoked to hear of Mojo's plans for the new year. Apparently, the male-centric channel will be devoting Thursday nights to finance-based offerings, and aside from the return of the aforementioned program, we'll also be treated to two new shows. The block, which will aptly be dubbed Mojo Money Night, will feature Bobby G: Adventure Capitalist -- a show focusing on the life of a capital management investor -- and Junkies, a new series all about "serial entrepreneurs." The action gets going on January 24th of next year, so we'd go on and pencil in a reminder in that perpetually crammed planner of yours.

Mojo's new HD auto series, Test Drive
Mojo, the network formerly known as INHD, is putting its latest offering on the street. The new series, Test Drive, is all about guys and cars and it's in HD to boot. We know, women drive cars, too. But with segment titles like "Chick Magnets," somehow you know that Mojo hasn't changed its target demographic. Beyond the standard exotic car test drives, there are segments with a "news you can use" bent -- "Taking on Traffic," "Surviving the Concrete Jungle," and "Road Rage," for example. Look for the series to debut this October.Time Warner Cable will move ESPN's HD channels off the HD tier
The road to ESPN's HD channels for Time Warner Cable customers has been a long and somewhat painful one. First they had to wait a very long time to get the channel at all, and then when it was finally added, customers discovered that they had to pay an extra fee (typically $10) since the channel was added to the HD tier. Then when TWC finally added ESPN HD, ESPN2 HD came along and then again customers had to wait some time before they could enjoy all those college football games and drag racing in HD. Now with ESPNews HD just around the corner, TWC and ESPN got together and worked up a deal that will not only add ESPNews HD to the TWC lineup, but will also move all the ESPN HD channels off the HD tier, which means that all digital cable subscribers will now get the channel for no additional fee, -- assuming they have the proper equipment. This really makes us wonder how many people will pay $10 a month for four channels including HDNet, HDNet Movies, Mojo and Universal HD? They had better add some more channels if they want to make it worth our while.INHD to become Mojo
Ah, good 'ol INHD. Home of random sporting events, Howard Stern and Tour-de-Gorge, they have somewhat struggled to find a footing in this crazy world of HDTV but hopefully, a name change can make the differences. We kind of knew this was going to happen and as of May 1st, they are going to adopt the name of their primetime programming block: Mojo. This programming has apparently been very good to the male oriented station and now that there are more HD stations constantly throwing competition their way, INHD must feel that perhaps it will allow the station to regain some of its lost mojo. (you knew we had to drop the phrase eventually) All we know is that if they keep producing food-to-face cramming action, we will keep watching; mojo or no mojo.HDTV Listings for December 6, 2006
