TNA Wrestling preps for first ever HDTV broadcast

Aw, yeah. Just a few short weeks after TNA Wrestling wrapped up the final loose ends on a new high-def studio in Nashville, in comes the announcement we've been expecting. TNA will be taping a live iMPACT! event on October 23rd in Las Vegas which it will broadcast in high-definition on Spike TV. When it airs, it'll mark the first ever HDTV broadcast for the sport. We'd say you could go and watch the sweat / blood in person, but maybe it's best to just take this one in from the (HD) sidelines.

The Ultimate Fighter 7 finale hits HD for the first time June 21

Following other MMA action, WWE and boxing to HD, The Ultimate Fighter 7 will broadcast its finale in high definition on Spike HD June 21. The three hour event kicks off at 9 p.m., featuring a main event of Evan Tanner vs. Kendall Grove, as well as the middleweight tournament finals from the show's latest season and other bouts. Broadcasting live from Las Vegas, we don't know if they'll be sharing camera equipment with The View, due in town the same week, but we figure the winner should stop by the couch to have a chat with Babs & Co. afterwards.

H3TV: LCD with "multiple" built-in Xbox 360s, for players

Aw snap, it looks like we've got some hot new competition in the um, all-in-one LCD/gaming console/sound system market. H3Enterprises -- the "first publicly traded company dedicated to the hip hop culture and lifestyle" -- is getting set to unveil its mysterious (albeit very gangster) H3TV on SpikeTV's "Video Game Awards." While the press release is quite ambiguous in describing the actual device, we're told that this off-the-hook unit will boast "the highest resolution in the industry" (likely 1080p), house "multiple Xbox 360 consoles" (saywha?), and include GenAudio's 4D "Astound Sound" -- which is proudly dubbed "the finest sound system available anywhere." The "multi-functional computerized television display" is slated to hit the company's own webstore, as well as be available through special deals with Mitsubishi and Circuit City, real soon. Hopefully H3Enterprises will hit us up with some juicy specifications soon enough, but until then, we'll just hope its stock rises above the ten cents per share mark that it's currently sitting at -- ya know, so they can actually afford to mass produce this dealio.
