Comcast takes AMC HD / TLC HD south to Jacksonville, FL

AMC HD and TLC HD aren't showing up in the online channel listings for Jacksonville, Florida, but you can rest assured that they're showing up on the tele. Here recently, Comcast has added the two stations on slot 429 and 425, respectively, and we honestly wouldn't be surprised to see the closely held pair move about to even more locales. If you'll recall, this very duo showed up in late April in Atlanta, but we haven't heard anything one way or the other about further expansion.

[Thanks, Chris]

Science, Disney and ABC Family HD head to Jacksonville, FL on Comcast

Another week, another report of Comcast's favorite trio popping up elsewhere in the country. This go 'round, Science HD, Disney HD and ABC Family HD have shown up to delight subscribers in Jacksonville, Florida, but considering that they just arrived in Atlanta, we suppose the drive down wasn't all that hectic, anyway. You know the drill -- keep your eyes peeled, your EPG may be the next to get infiltrated.

[Thanks, Matthew]

HDTV-stocked aloft hotel coming to Jacksonville, Florida

Not planning on heading to the Windy City just to check out one of those fanciful new aloft hotels? How's about Jacksonville, Florida? Sure enough, one of the aforementioned hotels is heading to the Sunshine State, and it's slated to include 136 HDTV-equipped guest rooms when it welcomes guests in next January. Aimed at "youthful-minded travelers," the building is being constructed with a number of "intuitive technologies and atmospheric public spaces." aloft Jacksonville Airport, as it'll properly be known, will be located just minutes away from JAX and under a half-hour from the downtown area. No word on HDTV programming that'll be available nor nightly rates, but it won't be long now before you can find out in person.

Comcast spreads the HD love to more of Southeast

Good news for Comcast users across the nation (and particularly for those in the Southeast): it seems the firm's recent HD expansion efforts are affecting more areas than just Washington, D.C. and South Carolina. Based on user reports originating in Jacksonville, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia, the channels added to the DC / SC lineups have made their way to the Peach and Sunshine states. For those needing a refresher, that includes USA HD, TLC HD, History Channel HD, Sci-Fi HD, CNN HD, Animal Planet HD and Discovery Channel HD. Additionally, it sounds as if ATLiens are also being blessed with Travel Channel HD, but we've nothing official to back that up with just yet. So, with more of the US getting all these newcomers, have any of you Comcast users in other locales seen additions in your EPG? Let's hear it!

[Thanks, Abby and Matthew P.]
