FUZE Media Systems: now with 100% more Blu-ray

It took 'em long enough, but FUZE Media Systems has finally scratched the Blu-ray itch. Reportedly, the firm has just now partnered with ArcSoft to integrate BD compatibility into its whole-home media system. If you'll recall, we just recently learned that FUZE's software would be going OEM, and sure enough, ArcSoft is the first partner "that will be leveraged in both FUZE Media Systems and OEM partner media devices." Availability? Try "now."

FUZE Media Systems software goes OEM

Don't call it a comeback Media Center -- no seriously, don't call it a Media Center, they don't like that, call it "the system that delivers on the promises of Media Center" -- soon you'll be able to get FUZE's media system software via other manufacturers. According to CEPro, they're negotiating with "a number of other companies" to put FUZE software on multimedia devices to work with web based audio control, v2 Media Center Extenders and more. Until now the only way to get the company's software into your house is through a custom installer, and it's not giving up that market, but expect a new, broader opportunity to get FUZE Media Systems once the agreements are done later this year.

FUZE minimizes its latest media PC system

FUZE Media Systems is back, this time shrinking its "whole-home" media PC system to a more "whole-apartment" media PC system. Dubbed the Mini Edition, its brings together the FuzeBox HTPC and is setup for two video and four audio zones, specifically configured for residences with 2-3 TVs. Upgradable to a full FUZE Media System, the server includes 4GB of memory, 750GB HDD storage and a 2.2GHz processor. Of course, like its big brother this is meant to be sold through a network of installers, but they'll be able to get a look at EHX starting tomorrow (hopefully this time at a system that's been turned on), with systems available some time in the second quarter.
