AmazonBasics: Bezos and Co. starts private-label consumer electronics line {Engadget}
Sep 20th 2009 2:25PM There is no difference. All cable sold for HDMI A/V purposes are expected to be HDMI 1.3 and thus support 10.2 GB/s. The only difference is braiding. I find it deplorable that Amazon is engaging in Monster-like tactics, trying to scam 300% premium out of the consumer under false pretense of delivering "higher quality experience"

Buy a 1080p BRAVIA and Sony Australia will toss in a PS3 for free {Engadget HD}
Dec 26th 2007 11:58AM Sony US has a similar promotion for the last few months. Buy an HDNA TV using your Sony Points (Sony Card is required) and get a free PS3. Unfortunately it requires you to spend $300,000 on Sony card (less if Sony merchandise was purchased, which counts as several points per dollar). Also, as Locke correctly points out, price difference with Amazon is such that one can by from Amazon, get PS3 and still be better off in the end
