It's game day, who's got the NFL RedZone Channel? {Engadget HD}
Sep 14th 2009 11:19AM I was going to check it out yesterday in Richmond VA, for FIOS. No free preview. It was in the HD line of channels so I'm only assuming it was in HD. It cost 49.99 to add for the season. I didn't order it. I'm thinking about ditching cable/telephone and doing everything thru FIOS internet.

Aug 27th 2009 10:23AM Ha, I felt the same way, except for when they do, it's even more excruciating, just because the lines are there means they still have to test. That process took 3 months, so not only did i not have FIOS but I got to see this big gray box at the end of my street everyday reminding me it's there but I can't have it yet. Eventually it was turned on and I think I was the second person on the block to have it installed.

Jul 31st 2009 5:10PM I did realize that. I still don't understand it. They are probably lining the pockets of the FCC/GOV not to mess with their little three card monty.

Jul 31st 2009 4:51PM I was able to get it down to hardly anything on Verizon. Had to turn of fax prompt, call back prompt, and enable rapid prompt. A little trickier than Sprints way but possible.

Jul 23rd 2008 2:08PM I think I read somewhere that any solar panel is expensive right, now but in the next 5 to 10 years, they will be common place and cheap. So I will wait the 5 years.

Segway sales hit all time high, thanks OPEC! {Engadget}
Jun 16th 2008 5:20PM I'm thinking about getting one of these for commuting. Right now I spend about 3800 bucks a year in gas. I think I can cut that down to about 1200 bucks if I use this device and use the car during the days where the weather doesn't permit. Of course I could ride or walk to work but that's 6 miles. Riding a bike might be fast but we don't have shower facilities at the office. Richmond VA heat and humidity might just make this impossible. Walking would take longer and have the same sweaty ending. Using a moped/scooter is probably half the cost but I will still need to fill it up, get insurance, get license plates, tags, find a place to park it where it won't get stolen. Segway, 17mph, would get me to work in around 30 minutes. Wouldn't have to fill it up, just plug it in and it will fit in my cubicle. Now it may look silly, but no much more than riding a scooter.
For the people who say "Why don't you just walk". You have either never walked more than 5 miles or your don't get the concept of commuting to work in a timely manner. Now we all know that walking helps you excersice, this isn't a discussion in exercise it's a discussion in a daily commute to and from a place of business further than one can walk within 30 minutes. When the headline reads, people using segways in place of excercise then you can have your little rants about how they should ride a bike, row a boat, or walk.
