HTC Droid Eris priced at $99 for Verizon? {Engadget}
Oct 28th 2009 3:53PM Tmobile had been the android pioneer, kinda surprised they dont have any beefier android hardware coming out for the holidays. Don't have Verizon's network and user base, but with the Project Dark pricing, would be mighty compelling and Verizon's doing a lot of marketing work for them with Droid = Android.
HTC Droid Eris priced at $99 for Verizon? {Engadget}
Oct 28th 2009 3:52PM Agreed - this comes down to the promise of Android 2.0, or being stuck on 1.6. If it can have 2.0, then 528Mhz vs 550Mhz... (i know the camera's better, hardware keyboard, etc...)
Buy This: Indiana Jones Nuked Fridge Collectible {Scifi Squad}
Oct 24th 2009 1:53PM To me that scene adds to Indy's character. It show's that not only is he rough and tumble, but smart. Not just knowledgeable about ancient cultures, but street smart and then some. Kinda like the almost as silly use of the knight's massive several hundred pound crypt as a shield from surface fire in Last Crusade.
I talked more about it in a whole blog post here: http://nicholsonrecords.com/paul/2009/10/indiana-jones-…yes-it-belongs/
Buy This: Indiana Jones Nuked Fridge Collectible {Scifi Squad}
Oct 24th 2009 2:03AM I still find it funny that people get so bent out of shape about the fridge scene or the monkey/vine scene in Crystal Skull because it didn't fit in the trilogy.
Do none of you remember Indy using a rubber dingy to survive a drop from an airplane into the mountains (and subsequent safe journey through a series of convenient tunnels, etc). Or surviving a fight with a big Nazi brute near a taxiing airplane while surrounded by HUNDREDS of other Nazis ready to shoot him the moment he won the fight?
It's not like the Indiana Jones series is meant to be realistic. It was based on ridiculous, over the top serials from the 1930's. Crystal Skull absolutely fit right in to the mold. Of course it is stupid that Indiana Jones could survive the nuclear blast (much less the preceding fight at his age). But he's freaking Indiana Jones. That's the POINT!
Barnes & Noble Nook dual-screen reader officially announced... for real {Engadget}
Oct 20th 2009 4:47PM How stupid is this that the device itself runs Android, but they only have ebook reader software available for iPhone, Blackberry, and PCs...not Android phones. [slaps forehead]
Cinematical Seven: Good Movies You Never Need To Watch Again {Cinematical}
Sep 10th 2009 10:50PM Pretty much all of M. Night's movies belong on this list, especially Sixth Sense. Only ones that don't are maybe Signs and Lady in the Water.
Will Pixar Make a Marvel Movie? {Cinematical}
Aug 31st 2009 1:58PM Actually, Pixar already has one live-action movie in the pipeline, so just because you want Marvel movies to be live action doesn't preclude Pixar from tackling one.
Is This Viral Video for 'Cloverfield 2'? You Tell Us {Scifi Squad}
Aug 27th 2009 10:40PM Obviously either a fan or a weak promo video. Has the same problem the original movie did: Anyone ever actually used an SD-based camcorder? They don't work like tape and cut back and forth between takes when you "record over" a previous clip. You delete, you record new. Period. Considering Abrams is supposed to be 'mr. attention to detail', that ruined the whole movie for me.
Weinberg's Top 100 Sci-Fi Films of All Time {Scifi Squad}
Aug 26th 2009 1:10PM Did this list seriously just put Robocop before Star Wars? and TRON? and Terminator?
And what is the Truman Show doing on this list at all? Great flick, but it ain't sci-fi.
Superheroes That Deserve Another Chance {Cinematical}
Aug 24th 2009 5:17PM The first movie was great, so it doesn't need a reboot, but i'd love to see more of The Rocketeer.
