High-Def DVD DRM schemes {Engadget HD}

Sep 14th 2005 5:44PM AACS does not require an Internet connection to secure content. It does include the capability of supplying special access to secure content via an Internet connection, at the content owners discretion. AACS is a copy protection system with optional DRM capabilities. This misunderstanding appears to have started from DRM Blog - where a vehemently anti-DRM author specifically stated, incorrectly, that AACS requires an Internet connection.

Stop Press: Russell Crowe is Right {Cinematical}

Aug 30th 2005 11:20AM Two thoughts: 1- The political bent on this blog is starting to become a bit much. When I want politics, I have a number of blogs bookmarked under the Politics heading. Cinematical is not one of them. 2- I find it laughable that someone, anyone, would criticize Bob Geldof for his charity work. And especially to claim he's misguided by his ego. Who is Bob Geldof? He's the guy that starred in Pink Floyd's The Wall. Other than that, he organized Live Aid and Live8. If his ego is based exclusively on charity work, that seems like a pretty dysfunctional ego. Yet he's treated like he's self-promoting something. Maybe he has a Pop music CD in the works and he'll be starring on The OC this fall. Uh huh.
