Ganassi shuts down Franchitti's NASCAR ride {Autoblog}

Jul 3rd 2008 8:40AM Funny how fans of respective motor sports series like to dump on another series.
Some basic facts:
The top Nascar drivers are world class talents ands could undoubtedly have (if they had so desired) transferred into road racing series and OW series, even F1 and been top drivers.
The current OW drivers in Nascar are super driving talents, either gaining the experieince they need, or in cars which are not the best in the field. Time will tell.
The real problem is the creeping issue of lost Sponsors in Nascar. That's why the Chipster needs to run 2 Cup cars not three. He needs to use his money and development resources making 2 cars winners, rather than having three sub cars. Nothing to do with the respective driver talent.
Enjoy this weekends full slate of racing guys. Starting with GrandAm on Thursday night!

V6 could join Pontiac Sport Truck lineup {Autoblog}

Jul 2nd 2008 1:47PM I believe the time is absolutely right got the G8 ST. Sales of large trucks are falling, as they get awful mpg, whereas the sedan baseds ST gets MUCH better mileage. In fact I would suggest that the ST may be the BIG BIG winner for GM, as truck buyers convert over to this machine. If you visit Aussie and other countries this type of machines is bought in huge numbers.
That said I think the discussion of the smaller V6 versus the V8 is pointless. After all the V6 ONLY gains ONE mpg over the 6.0L V8 engine.

Think of it this way. Do I want a large truck, getting 15 mpg, or do I want a sexy powerful G8 ST which goes faster and gets far better mileage......

Dennis Haysbert says he paved the way for Obama {TV Squad}

Jul 2nd 2008 12:02PM I have issues with the label of "African American" being applied so easily to Obama. He's a child of a Caucasian American woman and and African man. He's a child of a mixed marraige.
I make this point as my children are also from a mixed marraige. Ethic Chinese and Caucasian parents respectively. Should they be labelled White? Chinese? Or Other?
It's a throw back to less tolerant times when labels were conveniently attached based upon how one "appeared" to others and not by ones real background.

I think trying to label people is a waste of time.
