DirecTV confirms HD DVR / receiver glitch, apologizes profusely {Engadget}
Oct 8th 2008 8:36AM I've got Comcast and the crappiest DVR box in history...it's one of those Scientific Atlanta boxes. We have to pull the plug on it weekly. It is ALWAYS messed up in some way, whether it's OnDemand not working, not being able to rewind live TV, or shows magically disappearing. The difference is, when I call Comcast they play dumb. I'm on my 3rd box this year. They won't admit there is a problem. At least DirecTV is being honest with it's customers.
