Mustek intros the BD-100, aka Sharp BD-HP20S {Engadget HD}

Jan 9th 2008 12:45PM Agree with EQC - how can you conclude it's worse than the Sharp with such limited exposure? The way things are outsourced to OEMs these days, there's a good chance it's the same player.

Oct 12th 2006 12:07PM nope. i'd rather die than give up my DVR. Now when the HD-TIVO is cheaper, i'll consider that along with its required Cable card x 2.

Blackmagic Design announces, HDMI Capture card for $249 {Engadget HD}

Sep 13th 2006 2:44PM the studios have already enabled HDCP on digital outputs for this reason exactly - they want to avoid digital copies. now, the image constraint token that limits output resolution on component video will probably not be enabled solely because of this device since this has nothign to do with recording from component. further, thsi device will undoubtedly not support hdcp recording.

'Today' show going 1080i and we know what equipment they are using {Engadget HD}

Aug 22nd 2006 12:01PM well of course it's 1080i - it's on NBC, a 1080i network. The same goes for GMA, which is on ABC, a 720p network. I would hardly call this fact "interesting enough."

Time Warner Cable in San Antonio adding two HDTV channels {Engadget HD}

Jun 24th 2006 10:03AM better yet, how about freakin ESPN2-HD that's been out for well over a year now on DirecTV. Sports are the killer HD app IMHO, so hurry up TWC.
