HD DVD and Blu-ray releases on October 9th, 2007 {Engadget HD}
Oct 8th 2007 4:04PM From a replay stand point right now in my Toddler world its the Disney Movies that my 4 , 2 and newborn will be watching for years to come over and over. With that said why in Gods name won't Disney release them? I have been a supporter of HD-DVD just for the simple fact that I absolutely LOATH Sony and their proprietary ways! And I have a 360 and I can add it to my setup rather cheaply. But all said they both have good points and good titles exclusive to one another. So to me things are tied right now. Still I have not bought either technology. How many others feel this way nothing pushing you over the edge to either format. So if Disney dropped their catalogue of Movies on Blue Ray, for me it would be what I need to reluctantly tip my scales towards Blu-Rapy(still loath sony).

Black Friday promises deals on HDTVs, riots likely {Engadget HD}
Nov 9th 2006 8:52PM I have been predicting that we would see a 32inch HD LCD display @ the or below the $500 price point and in my opinion it would occur this holiday season. Well it has already happened if you check many of the online retailers you can find LCDs at our now below that price point for that size LCD. Albeit off brands and not specs that most of us here would be all that impressed by, the average Joe will not care! But this set are real HD not EDTV and good enough to be called HD, these set will be the catalyst for shifting the HD tide. (Check Ecost.com for examples. 800:1 contrast and 1280 x 1024 sets.)
This in my opinion is the turning point for HD with Sets at the price the Wal-Mart crowd i.e. the Rest of the WORLD (non technophiles) will jump in head first to HD. In addition many of the early adopters will go for second and third displays. More consumers that have HD will equal a larger base for which to justify network HD content creation. 2007 WILL BE THE YEAR OF HD for real this time.
