DISH / EchoStar ordered to pay TiVo $190 million in patent infringement case {Engadget}

Jun 3rd 2009 2:28PM Regarding running TiVo on DTV hardware, I remember reading the opposite: there will be 2 choices, DTV's hardware or TiVo hardware, not choice of software on the same box.

MCE's 8x internal Blu-ray burner for Mac Pros now shipping, great for anything but playing Blu-ray movies {Engadget}

Apr 10th 2009 2:34PM I agree with badweasel, I bought an LG 8X bluray burner and just stuck it in my Mac Pro, it works fine...true i have to boot into windows to watch BD movies (VMWare PC wont play it either). I paid $200 for the burner so don't waste your money on this.

Also, badweasel has good instructions but it was much much simpler than that for me. I got an angled SATA cable and used a pair of long nosed plyers to plug it into the socket underneath the assembly (without having to remove anything from the mac). I hooked up 2 SATA cables there this way, was not a problem unless you have huge sausage finger hands :P
