Only The Day After Tomorrow uses BD+. The Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer is a BD-J issue.

According to Samsung, the new firmware update to fix this will be out in 1-2 weeks.

Both movies work flawlessly on many BD players include the PS3.

The reason why PS store lags the US store is the translations issues.

The USA is one unified market of 300 million people, with one currency, it is easier, faster, and more profitable to roll a product out to the US market.

May 24th 2007 1:43AM According to the videophiles over on AVS, the PS3 is now the premier BD and DVD player with the 1.80 firmware.

* Excellent/Amazing 1080p upscaling of DVDs
* For those with 720p only sets it now does 720P downscaling for BD along with upscaling for DVD
* 1080p24 support (film is native 24 fps, no more 3:2 pulldown)
* Blacker-than-Black (BTB) and Whiter-than-White (WTW) support with (full range/limited) the BTB has been confirmed by DVE
* HQV DVD test and the PS3 1.80 firmware passes ALL tests!! Cadence, interlacing, artifacting, you name it, it passed!!!

At the XMB (menu) where you would launch the Folding client, instead press the green triangle. There you can pick the auto-start idle time.

Feb 26th 2007 11:01PM Say goodbye to new HD DVD release for a month. There is now a 4 week drought until the next new HD DVD release.
