Archos Generation 5 players cracked {Engadget}
Sep 18th 2008 1:30PM A great little player and it's just nice to know that folks still try to get more on these devices than the manufacturer intends. Some of them could really turn into nice little PDAs.
Research profiles the typical fantasy MMO player {Massively}
Sep 7th 2008 3:20PM From the survey:
23: How would you rate yourself in terms of physical fitness?
1-- Big fat slob
2-- Not so big, but still a fat slob
3-- Pretty good looking and enormously strong!
24: How healthy are you?
1-- PLEASE CALL 911 I JUST COUGHED SOMETHING UP! IS THAT MY PANCREAS?
2-- I have alot of playing time because I'm always home sick! Win-Win!
3-- I have an amazing constitution and did I mention that I am good looking?
Honestly, aren't most surveys like this purposely skewed in their wording by manufacturers so that any information gleaned from it is not detrimental to sales and/or public relations?
Nintendo explains Wii Fit shortages using familiar language {Engadget}
Aug 28th 2008 7:50PM Anyone who has seen the bulldozing of Atari cartridges understands Nintendo's position.
Just because we KNOW it's a hit now doesn't mean it was a sure-thing to begin with.
Shortages are MUCH easier to explain to stockholders than explaining warehouses full of unsold stock.
Ask Engadget HD: To TiVo, or not to TiVo? {Engadget HD}
Aug 27th 2008 3:18PM When we got HD I switched form a home-grown SageTV box to DirecTV's DVR. While I miss a few features from SageTV the DVR from DirecTV is good enough where I don't even consider moving to another DVR.
Broken Toys: Broken models. Start thinking differently, says Lum {Massively}

MMOs on Big Download's most anticipated games list {Massively}
Aug 26th 2008 3:28PM They seem spot-on. The sad truth is that Blizzard could wrap Pac-Man in a World of Warcraft box and likely sell millions.
I'm not saying the expansion will do much to extend the lifetime of the game but you can't deny it will probably sell more copies than the next 9 games combined on the top-ten list.
I'm sure Warhammer will have a decent unveiling but whether they can deliver something different enough to keep the servers filled will be another question entirely.
The Daily Grind: Movies based on MMOs {Massively}
Aug 26th 2008 11:08AM I really liked Resident Evil. :( The first one, at least.
Cowon's S9 Curve with 3.3-inch AMOLED touch-screen kills with style {Engadget}
Aug 25th 2008 8:11AM Interesting but I think I'd prefer the extra inch of screen real-estate on iRiver and Archos' latest PMPs. But I use mine mainly for movie-watching.
iriver P20 media player and M3 GPS navigator headed to IFA {Engadget}
Aug 25th 2008 8:05AM The more PMPs the better. I have skipped them the last two times I bought a PMP because of the small screen sizes but this looks like a step in the right direction. I use mine exclusively as movie players so big screen, battery life, codec support, memory size and TV output are what I'm looking for.
Why the subscription-based business model is broken {Massively}
Aug 24th 2008 8:49PM I think what he's really saying is that the business model that he is no longer in is no good and the one he is now working with is totally awesome.
When you put that through the hype BS translator it says absolutely nothing.
I am very willing to pay to play. Just make sure you keep my interest and you win. WoW got a LOT of money out of me before I left. Conan got the original box price and nothing more. LOTRO will get a few more months from me.
