Car and Driver drawing flak over Photoshopped BMW X6 M drag racing pic? {Autoblog}
Oct 5th 2009 6:33PM EXACTLY! The #1 reason I subscribe to C&D is for the writing... clever, funny stuff. Likewise, the best articles/reviews on Autoblog are the ones that have a dash of character thrown in. To all you whining asshats (esp. Johnny), get a life!
The placement of the 2 cars in the shot was likely intended to have the cars roughly side-by-side; the fact that the Bimmer looks slightly ahead being the product of the photos' timing.
Just like Consumer Reports... don't take their writing as gospel, just use their opinions to help YOU make up your OWN mind!

Frankfurt Preview: 2010 BMW 320d Efficient Dynamics Edition, 57.4 mpg (U.S.) {Autoblog Green}
Aug 22nd 2009 4:38PM Love it...
I just saw some commercial on TV where BMW was touting the "most fuel efficient range of luxury vehicles" or something like that. I thought I saw a 3'er in the picture too....
I'm curious, what are the main reasons that might prevent BMW from bringing this car to the US? California emissions?

May 19th 2009 8:45PM glad I'm on DirecTV... I love those two channels! I'll likely switch to FIOS soon, although that'd be a definite strike against if if they too decided to drop 'em.
BMW says no to new Z4 M {Autoblog}
Mar 21st 2009 12:32PM yeah, with the N54, owners will have tons of options to get more power, far beyond BMW's own "safe" 20hp option. Of course, they'll still be stuck with that electric steering and gobs of extra weight.
Glad I picked up my Z4M Coupe when I did :)
SIM2 Solar Series infinite contrast HDR LCD ships in Q2 {Engadget}
Mar 17th 2009 6:40PM surprised this hasn't come up more often, but...
what about the concept of backlighting an LCD panel using DLP projection? You may not get the same contrast resulting from on/off LEDs, but the granularity of control would more than make up for this fact. You could also forgo all the circuitry & mechanical bits of a standard DLP television and simply have, say, 8 bits to control the brightness. Then it would just be a matter of alignment, no more difficult than doing so with 3 old-school CRTs, but without the worry of things getting out-of-whack over time!
DirecTV Q4 aftermath: focusing on "middle market," receiving praises from everywhere {Engadget HD}
Feb 11th 2009 4:05PM I've been a D* customer for about 6 years and it's been pretty trouble-free, aside from wind knocking my dish out of alignment a few weeks ago.
However, the price has gone up (slowly) over time and picture quality has continued to go down. Channels/shows labeled as HD are often not (stretched), down-res'd or over compressed. But FIOS is currently being setup in my neighborhood, so I'll soon have options & I think it'll be an easy choice.
BMW Z4 M Coupe - production version specs and pics {Autoblog}
Feb 2nd 2009 5:50PM Interesting comments... in retrospect, and with the 2009 Z4 info released, it seems the E86 Z4 M coupe that will be remembered over the Z3...

Jan 12th 2009 12:49AM Why not have the major networks add some countdown tickers or overlays onto the majority of their programming? Like throw a small "20 day" countdown thing in the corner, then scroll some details across the screen every hour or so.
