Apple TV 3.0.1 update prevents data from 'temporarily disappearing' {Engadget HD}

Nov 8th 2009 2:12PM Anyone try doing the update from 2.3.1 to 3.0.1 on a hacked AppleTV?

Aug 25th 2009 10:56PM I wish the recordings started later in the evening. I'm still at work at 5:30PM. 7PM would be a good time.

Ask Engadget HD: Best stereo receiver / amplifier? {Engadget HD}

Dec 25th 2008 5:38AM As an owner of a Anthem Statement D2 and A5 I completely agree with you. There is greater depth of field and significantly more accurate tonal quality to the sound produced from these higher end products.

Being a classically trained musician and former sound quality judge I am cursed with those "golden ears" Ben and Steve love to insult.

There really is a difference in sound from higher end equipment manufactures but if you have damaged your ears through rock concerts or driving around as kid with the car stereo blaring or spent days on end with your garage band using your guitar amp which goes to eleven, your ears would be too damaged to hear the difference.

Poll: How are you enjoying HD Netflix streaming on the Xbox 360? {Engadget HD}

Nov 22nd 2008 3:26PM I wouldn't say the Netflix HD streaming is "excellent" but it is definitely "good." It doesn't look as good as OTA or Blu-ray but it looks much better than DVD on my 50" via 6Mb connection. I would have no problems using it for catching up on missed episodes or watching classic TV. My next test is to put it up on the 60" in the living room to see if the lower quality starts to show.

Insignia NS-BRDVD Blu-ray player: now below $200 at Best Buy {Engadget HD}

Oct 20th 2008 1:11PM From what I have seen this is the first Blu-ray player to have a true selling price of less than $200. All the other players to reach this mark have been model close outs or onetime sales.

You need a player like this on the market to satisfy the price shoppers and to keep the big boys from getting to ridiculous with pricing. There are so many people out there who just want a player that looks better than DVD and is cheap, this is the player for them.

NBC replaces Weather Plus with Universal Sports {Engadget HD}

Oct 14th 2008 9:51PM NOOOOO!!!!! Why would they do this. The people at NBC just don't get it.

Sony's $400 Profile 2.0 BDP-S550 Blu-ray player now shipping {Engadget HD}

Oct 12th 2008 1:24PM I'm torn between this and the Panasonic BD55K.

NBC kills useless, bit stealing, Weather Plus channel {Engadget HD}

Oct 8th 2008 3:27PM Ending this sub-channel is one of the greatest things to happen since NBC started broadcasting HD.

Panasonic's DMP-BD55 Blu-ray player gets reviewed {Engadget HD}

Oct 2nd 2008 7:55AM I'm getting this player over the 35 just for the flexibilty. I currently have Samsung BD-P1200 which I will move to the bedroom. While my Anthem D2 has HDMI 1.1 I link knowing I have the flexibility to go analog in for my current or on a future unit.

Sony's BDP-S300 1080p Blu-ray player sinks below $200 {Engadget HD}

Sep 22nd 2008 8:21PM I understand why this is news for someone looking to pick up a low cost Blu-ray Player but I don't understand how a simple clearance sale on a discontinued model represents big news or a paradigm shift. Is there something I a missing?
