Japanese hardware sales: Lite on its feet {Joystiq Nintendo}

Apr 4th 2006 9:29PM Actually, if you add up both DS versions you get:

159,293

If you add up everything else on the list you get:

78,844

If you add up everything else on the list and DOUBLE it:

157,688

So literally, more DS's were sold than everything else combined... twice.

Mar 12th 2006 7:09PM Maybe the PS1 was so great because Nintendo helped develope it.

"Nintendo approached Sony to develop a CD-ROM add-on, tentatively titled the "SNES-CD". A contract was struck, and work began. In 1991, the SNES-CD (now titled the Play Station) was to be announced at the June CES. However, when Hiroshi Yamauchi read the original 1988 contract between Sony and Nintendo and learned that it allowed Sony 25% of the profits from the machine, he was furious. He deemed the contract totally unacceptable, and secretly cancelled all plans for a joint Nintendo-Sony SNES CD attachment."

Mar 8th 2006 1:21AM "a game that comes to mind is thrill kill for ps1. looked like a decent game, but they scrapped it and used the engine to make that horrific wu-tang game."

I remember back in the day when my girlfriends brother was at college he had about 200 burned ps1 games that he "acquired" one of which was Thrill Kill. It was alright, but nothing too spectacular. But if you really want to play it I have a feeling there will be a "heavy downpour" on a certain Pirate ship in the Bay... if you get my drift ;)

Mar 3rd 2006 2:11PM It's definitley for oblivion. Look at the ascii image, and then at this picture.

though I'm not sure why they would start viral marketing for oblivion only 3 weeks before it comes out.

Thrift store gaming haul; the thrill of the hunt {Joystiq}

Mar 1st 2006 5:59PM I found a dreamcast at goodwill for 6$ with controller and all cables. They had it with the cd players and boomboxes, not in the glass case with the nes and snes's. Also found a copy of Dragon Warrior for NES in box still sealed in plastic for $4.

Try using the program called "Adobe gamma". Im not sure what program installed it because I have the whole adobe suite, but it was probably photoshop. It's in the control panel once it's installed and can drastically brighten up your monitor. I haven't used it in years but it used to always make games brighter on my dying monitor.
