Warner reintegrates HD DVD faithful with Red2Blu trade-in program {Engadget HD}
Apr 22nd 2009 11:02AM The shipping is per order - so $5/Blu-ray + $7 shipping for entire order. Not a bad gesture on Warner's part. Offer also comes with a $15 off $50 coupon at wbshop.com. Very tempting, particularly for movies with improved audio transfers and/or features.

Could you live on online TV / Netflix alone? One gal found out. {Engadget HD}
Dec 24th 2008 9:36AM This is exactly what I'm planning to do 8 months per year. If it wasn't for college basketball (and the need for CSN & ESPN) I'd drop cable all together. Requiring a slight battle with the HOA, but with the FCC on my side I will prevail. TiVo HD makes itself quite useful in this situation as well - works interchangeably between OTA/cable allowing year round retention of DVR convenience. Plus the monthly fee is actually less than the monthly Comcast DVR fee. This setup should save me about $500 per year [($70/mo x 8) - ($55 install fee)].
Comcast has no shame, successfully delays FiOS vote for Philadelphia {Engadget HD}
Dec 12th 2008 3:55PM Well try #3 was a failure. Comcast you f*cking suck. You should not only get out of Philly, but be forced to sell your crap business in other markets to someone semi-competent.
