Klipsch gives its Icon VF-35, VF-36 speakers to Best Buy {Engadget HD}

Sep 13th 2008 8:06PM It's probably to hide the paper woofers with foam surrounds. I am a huge Klipsch fan and have a Reference IV setup, but this choice to move to cheapo drivers worries me...

Samsung's BD-P1400 Blu-ray player sinks below $300 {Engadget}

Dec 8th 2007 11:32PM As I posted over on EngadgetHD, the lack of built in DD+/TrueHD/DTS-HD(MA) decoders makes this a no-go in my book. PS3 is the only way to go I'm afraid.

Samsung's BD-P1400 Blu-ray player sinks below $300 {Engadget HD}

Dec 8th 2007 11:07PM The lack of DD+/TrueHD/DTS-HD decoders makes this one a no-go in my book. It is a step in the right direction though.

90,000 HD DVD players sold in one weekend {Engadget HD}

Nov 7th 2007 10:07AM The one thing this does show is how important price is to the average consumer. At $500 and $700 Toshiba was able to move 100k in one year, but at $99, they can effectively about double their user base in one weekend. Not counting how many forum junkies were picking up second or third units, this really was a big victory in getting HD DVD into mainstream America. A lot of people were right, this is BD's war to lose, and they will have to mobilize into this price bracket to really put the screws to HD DVD.

Pioneer's new Blu-ray player, the BDP-LX70 {Engadget HD}

May 9th 2007 3:23PM Minor as in Persistant storage and internet connectivity? Something HD DVD has had since day one.

The Blu-ray fans plan a counter attack {Engadget HD}

Apr 19th 2007 9:26PM I wasn't replying to Tom. I was replying to tim claiming that Blu-Ray is superior. I'm tired of hearing how "superior" Blu-Ray is. For all intents and purposes the only difference between the two formats is content selection. Calm down, it's an internet blog.

The Blu-ray fans plan a counter attack {Engadget HD}

Apr 19th 2007 7:46PM 30 gigs is plenty for movies. I'm also loving my Dolby TrueHD, how's that working out for you BD guys...oh wait...
