Sep 4th 2008 1:51PM You are correct about 4k or 2k film scanning, but there are a few camera's out there that can shoot native 4k digital. My fiance and i just finished shooting a feature film on a Red One which is 4k capable. We wound up shooting in 4k but outputing at 1080p pro-res but we could have (with enough time and big enough computer budget) edited the entire thing in 4k. I would love to have seen that footage on a 4k projector...

Sep 4th 2008 1:39PM We just finished filming a movie on a Red One and i would love to see the footage (after color correction) in 4k. That would look pretty damn amazing.

Sep 4th 2008 9:08AM I pay 5 dollars a month for my comcast HD DVR box... sure it has less recording time and the menus are crappy, but for $60 bucks a year i think i'll stick with the cheapo unit... which gets an upgrade (for free) every 18months or so.
I suppose if you have a lifetime Tivo subscription that this might be a good choice as an upgrade but wow $600 is a lot of $$$ to watch some tv.
Protected Lands for Sale in the Adirondacks {Luxist}
Sep 3rd 2008 10:54AM My family has owned property in the Adirondacks for 70+ years on Brant Lake (near Lake George) and this is some of the most beautiful land on earth. The fall colors, summer breezes and crisp winter air make the Adirondacks and amazing place to be at any time of year. I wish i could afford something like this. While the past 4 generations of my family wouldn't be able to make use of it, those to come would certainly enjoy having a place like this to call home.

Jul 29th 2008 1:49PM that one had about 1-3 minutes of flight time in it before it needed to be recharged/refilled. with 30 minutes of flight time out of one tank of gas, this thing has much greater potential. The real "jet" pack you are thinking of used hyrdogen-peroxied as a propellant and not gasoline to power an engine... and it was WAY cool and WAY ahead of it's time.
