Hauppauge USB TV tuners now EyeTV compatible {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

May 23rd 2007 10:56AM I've been using Hauppauge's WinTV on various systems since 1999, dependable hardware -- sometimes confusing and buggy software (WinTV 2000 for Windows 2k / XP was always mess I recall).

Team-ing up with EyeTV solves buggy software for me- i'm serriously going to consider buying a tuner. My dad uses EyeTV for converting VHS Home videos to MPEG- on a Mac Mini (first generation - G4 1.25Ghz?). And the application is all he needs, keeps things simple, love the Front Row look-alike interface.

Flickr Uploadr 2.3 {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

May 3rd 2007 11:13AM Can I drag items around in the little viewer once added to the list? This is something that has been missing- just waiting to be added. Also; how about just linking to the images rather than slowly cache-ing them (moving the file around the harddisk) this causes trouble for large batch uploads.

Otherwise- I've tried a few alternative 'third party' Flickr Uploadr-s... i still prefer the beta version of this app. Still, we're getting close.

14th UK Apple Store planned {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Skinning Front Row to look like Apple TV {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Mar 27th 2007 5:25PM damn it Apple legal team. get your priorities right; we are MAC fanboys (ouch, i just admitted that for the first time) and we're having a little fun with our computers. amongst friends... no one's being ripped off, your not loosing any 'cred or money. utter arseholes.

Apple doesn't do it first, but they do it well: Time Machine {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Mar 21st 2007 3:52PM I always thought 'Shadow Copy' was developed for system files, for protection of anything in the Windows / System folder... as a precaution against dumb users / bad apps deleting needed files like win.ini etc.

It wasn't a snazzy 'look how this can save you personal files!' feature. it was a 'oh, users can delete necessary files like win.ini and disable their computers because windows never knew any better' app.

does that make sense. i remember sitting in a launch demo thing for XP and being excited about this and the other XP restore feature... but they didn't work as advertised and were all about sorting Windows out first, letting the user be productive second. get me?
