I think because Blu Ray is doing so poorly they have to shove these useless numbers at us to try and start some kind of buying frenzy.
Blu Ray will be adopted when the players sell for $99.00 - no sooner.

May 1st 2008 6:55AM Gus, that was beautiful. I couldn't agree more. I think Sony is going to be the only company reaping any rewards from Blu Ray.
Toshiba undercut everyone and left no room for the big CE companies to go HDDVD and make a profit. Sony has done the same - why would anyone buy a stand alone player when you can buy a PS3 that does so much more at the same price?

Apr 23rd 2008 6:55AM I said it the other day - It's a dead format. The average person doesn't care about the small upgrade you get in video.
It's not a tough sale - it's impossible. Video geeks are the only ones that care, and that's a small percentage.
Bring on the media streamers that play your movies, music and pictures without leaving your couch - that's the future baby!
