Yes it is too bad that it has taken us this long to finally get some electric vehicles mass produced. But at least things are finally starting to happen. This is a step in the right direction. And this car is much more advanced than the EV1. It can make long distance trips and can refuel at normal gas stations. Plus it is much larger, has more capacity, and is presumably much heavier than the EV1 was. My question is does this thing us Nickel or Li batteries?

Ionatron building laser guided energy weapons for US Navy {Engadget}
Apr 26th 2007 11:37AM I would think directed energy weapons would be very usful against anti-ship missles (one of the Navy's biggest threats) and possibly even ballistic missles. Obviously they would work against any planes as well.
I dont see the energy weapons available being effective against something as large as a ship but maybe they will surprise us.

Apr 18th 2007 8:10PM Oh man I want one really bad. Doesn't that seem like a long time for prices to come down - hard drives seem to double in size every year for the same price.

Apr 18th 2007 7:04PM I just looked at amazon and the blank HD-DVD sale price that I found was 11.38. That puts it at less than a dollar per gb - still much too expensive in my mind when dvds are like 5 cents per gb. When I can by a pack of HD discs (HD-dvds or blu-ray) for a dollar each I will get a burner - whichever format it is.
Currently I think it is pointless to debate the issue since they are both impractical unless money is not an issue - with a backup external hard drive I hardly ever use disks anymore.
Apple TV kinda sorta works with certain 4:3 SD TVs {Engadget}
Mar 23rd 2007 4:51PM I am not sure who the apple tv is really targeting because if it does not work with SD sets, which I thought that it did, and it does not work with true HD files (see earlier engadgetHD post) then who are they targeting?
I guess there are a bunch of people out there that dont even get HD programming with their HD set so maybe that is who Apple is targeting - people who have money enough to own a HD set but are to dumb to realize they aren't watching HD. (What are those black bars on the sides for?? :) ).
