Oblivion infinite gold cheat undermines Tamriel society [update 1] {Joystiq}

Mar 26th 2006 8:01AM
This bug is useless. The Oblivion developers have been so smart to make shopping based on level rather than money. Merchants show you only objects at your skill level. You'll never cheat this way, because you still have to make experience to gain advanced equipment.

Great game...

Ageia PhysX card makes explosions look pretty {Joystiq}

Came on guys, give this Ageia boys a break.

I' will buy this 300$ card for sure, because I know that supporting physics acceleration is going to make games better and better. Just see what HL2 had done with a very little cpu physics. Just imagine the possibilities... it's not about the graphics explosions, it's about the interactions that developers will came up when the PhysX cards will be spread. Think about it... gaming will never be the same if we give those guys a possibility.

P.S.
And no, I don't want my GPU cycles to be used for physics.. they are better spent for graphics, thanks...

Dell XPS 600 Renegade goes on sale for $10K {Engadget}

I agree: those riggs are useless.

Why spend tons of money for a system that can barely surpass a 399$ XBox360 (with none of the best games)?

Performance gaming is on console nowadays. PC are now just for MMORPG (that use low graphic details for the massive tcp traffic they have to sustain anyway).

This is good after all. PC gaming is going to be about gameplay and good design, and not about top-notch 3d graphics vaporware anymore.

Breaking News: PS3 delayed until November! {Joystiq}

Microsoft knew this all from the beginning.

Never understimate the power of Microsoft, if their history has shown us something is that in the end, in every market, they always win. Always.

And now, with an entire year of advantage for the ms game developers to study the 360, sony is in deep trouble. When they will show their 1st generation ps3 titles, ms will ship the 2nd 360 ones.

Bye bye sony.

StarForce makes PC gaming hard... and it kills kittens {Joystiq}

I don't know what is worst:

1) An evil copy protection that kills my ide driver and slows down my cd burner until it doesn't burn anything without errors.

2) A game (GalCiv2) that is a clear regression in the space strategy genre, offering for a price a clone of Master of Orion 2 MINUS the tactical turn based battle phase (the heart of such games), offering a ridiculous "cinematic realtime 3d simulation" of the battle instead.

This is a war between the Awfuls.

At Lucasarts they just DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DESIGN INTERFACES.

They need to hire some true designers like Chris Taylor, and stop paying amateurs. Really.

Colossus knocks NFS off top of UK charts {Joystiq}

Feb 21st 2006 9:32PM The success is explained by the fact that SotC is the first game with an original concept in YEARS.

Maybe they will start to realize that clones and abused franchises are destroying this business...
