Nov 3rd 2008 12:22PM When my 2-stroke gas weed whacker broke this year, I replaced it with an 18V Li-On powered electric Ryobi. And it does the job as good, is quieter, and MUCH less of a hassle. Bought a drill and two batteries. Multi-purpose power source.
I have a few good years left on my mower (in it's 10 year now) but it's replacement is going to be battery powered.
