Mar 5th 2008 2:34PM A couple people on here have commented that NC-17 movies are all softcore porn.
Which already shows how much stigma the NC-17 rating carries, considering these are people who chose to come here to read an article about creating a dialogue about it.
A quick search of the list of NC-17 movies shows that about a third of the list is horror/action films, a third of it is films featuring sexually "explicit" content, and the final third, yes, the eqivalent of softcore pornography. The interesting thing is that the bulk of this list is actually films that have been re-edited to receive an R rating. There have only been a small handful of films that have surrendered or accepted the NC-17.
Simply looking at the list would probably open your eyes, as I can imagine that there are very minimal differences between the NC-17 and edited rated R cuts of films. Films that include some critically acclaimed selections, and even Oscar winners.

Mar 5th 2008 1:50PM I don't know about VIOLENT crimes, but in LA there has been a significant rise in thefts of Sidekicks, especially in affluent neighborhoods. It happens even in broad daylight. Most of the time it's a simple grab 'n go, snatched out of the hand right during a call, but occasionally, there have been muggings.
I've known at least 4 separate cases of Sidekick thefts personally, and I can only imagine how desireable the iPhone must be. But to go to the extent of threatening and actually using violence to grab an iPod?? That's a little extreme, don't ya think?

Feb 14th 2008 7:51PM They should just make one final SKU for the 360 and do a huge price drop. Throw in all the features that they wanted to put in, but left out for budget reasons, and they'll be fine. Built-in WiFi, 120GB HDD for all, and (dare I say it) a built in Blu-Ray player.
There's still a lot of mileage left on this current gen's platforms.

Jan 8th 2008 12:15PM I've already seen these on sale in Hong Kong at the toy stores. They aren't under the Guitar Hero license however, since people in Asia don't care about the Guitar Hero brand. (They're all about Konami's Guitar and Drum Freaks brand)
