Simmer Down About Teixeira, O's Fans {Fanhouse MLB Blog}
Apr 10th 2009 10:10AM @Matt
I'm referring to the many times he was quoted as saying it was his dream to play for the Orioles. Then when he signs with the Yankees it was always his dream to play for the Yankees - they were always #1 on his list.
Look at just this week... To the NY Press - more talk about how it was always his dream to be a Yankee... To the Baltimore Press - in a perfect world he'd be an Oriole.
Why in a perfect world would he be an Oriole if it was always his dream to be a Yankee?
What I think ticked the people of Maryland off is that over the years he professed how much he wanted to be an Oriole when in reality he didn't.
There is nothing wrong with signing with another club but again, that's not what triggered the intensity of the booing it was the leading on of the Orioles and their fans by professing that he wanted to be an Oriole.

Apr 8th 2009 6:46AM What is the old saying?
"Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt"?
This article removes all doubt... It's amazing how naive people are regarding the Teix situation.
If the author thinks he was booed for not signing for significantly less money to play for the Orioles he simply has not paid attention. The booing would not have been anywhere near as intense if he hadn't said a lot of what he said leading up and after signing.
Teix shares a trait with ARod in that he's always trying to please the audience he is speaking to and ends up saying some truly idiotic things that rub people the wrong way. He earned the booing with what came out of his mouth not for simply for signing with the Yankees.
Rules in the NBA {Blog Maverick}
May 19th 2007 1:39PM To those who think that rules should be black and white and enforced without intrpretation. Is the NBA wrong not to have called a technical on Tim Duncan and for any number of numerous instances when bench players / coaches step onto the for one reason or the other. Why is it acceptable to allow an "intrpretation of the rule and intent" in those situations but not the other?
Rules in the NBA {Blog Maverick}
May 17th 2007 5:03PM Here is why there should be some discretion involved...
Tim Duncan came on the floor and wasn't penalized in any way shape or form. Yet if one of the Sun's players had the foresight to turn the hard fould into an "altercation" then Duncan would of been suspended.
Same exact behavior ranging from no punishment to extreme punishment all based on the actions of another. Does anyone think that makes any sense?
