Futuresource still predicting big things for Blu-ray {Engadget HD}

Jun 26th 2009 3:24PM I know you're not just some anti-BR crackpot (as a many make you out to be) and I see your point, but it's the same point that you've been stating for a while now. It's pretty obvious by now, this "research" isn't going to stop. Both sides just slant the stats to make themselves look right, which is why nobody is ever fully wrong. So why get so worked up over it? The more people post, the more it looks like this stuff is interesting to their readers, which it's not. People just use posts like this to start up the wars again. I'm just saying, it's been a long time now and these comments for BR posts are almost scripted at this point.

Futuresource still predicting big things for Blu-ray {Engadget HD}

Jun 26th 2009 2:12PM Everybody's sick and tired of these predictions? The top two posters here are the ones that I see b!tching the most. If you like it, buy it! If you don't, don't! Simple market economics will take care of the rest. Get over it!

Surprise surprise, most home video spending still on discs {Engadget HD}

May 13th 2009 4:43PM Well the studios certainly aren't giving consumers a cost-benefit to switch to digital. Most of the time, they're at least as expensive as their media-based counterpart...sometimes more expensive!

Best Buy prepping an entry into the digital distribution game {Engadget HD}

Apr 17th 2009 9:57AM Gee, how about you quit marking BR up to $30+ per movie? Ever think that it might be the extremely prohibitive prices on movies that are keeping people from taking the plunge? I know I sure as hell wouldn't buy a BR from Best Buy at their prices...

Poll: Is the lack of Blu-ray playback keeping you from buying a Mac? {Engadget HD}

Apr 13th 2009 12:20PM "Eric @ Apr 13th 2009 11:11AM

How are you playing back higher-quality music on your Blu-ray discs? Are these store-bought discs, or are you burning them yourself? Because if it's the latter, I would be interested in knowing more. I am getting a Blu-ray burner for my Mac Pro and would like to try what you're doing that allows higher quality music."

Just FYI, he said, "increased quality of audio", not music. I was assuming he meant that the audio in his BR movies is greatly improved over that of DVD movies, not just the video. I could be wrong though...

Twilight tops the DVD charts while Blu-ray sales lag behind {Engadget HD}

Apr 1st 2009 11:29AM Ok, so we have an account of one person buying this movie in BR. One out of how many?

I actually had someone call me and ask if she could watch a BR on her DVD player because they were all sold out of the DVDs everywhere...

Mar 30th 2009 2:25PM Just got the email. Like others have said, if it means no more "very long wait" on new releases, then it's fine. If not, then I start making changes.
