Dell SX2210T adds touchscreen functionality to 1080p panel (Update: multitouch!) {Engadget}

Oct 20th 2009 4:23PM Haha, I'm so sleep deprived right now I spelled "Compliant" wrong. My apologies internet.

Oct 20th 2009 4:11PM Specs sheet says "Windows 7 Complaint" (http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/MONITORS/SX2210T/en/ug/about.htm#plug_and_play_capability scroll down to "Touch Screen Specifications"), if that means "Passed Windows 7 Touch Logo testing" should mean multitouch right?

IBM sues Shentech for selling volatile counterfeit batteries {Engadget}

Nov 30th 2007 5:49PM Is there someone at IBM you can talk to if you bought one of these? I can't figure out if I'd need to talk to their legal department, service department, etc. I'm trying to figure out if they can issue me a cheap replacement for this knockoff, or if I have to sue Shentech to get a refund for this, or how dangerous this thing is. I confused the hell out of the poor Indian guy at the switch board when I tried to figure out who to talk to about this.

Dallas-Fort Worth's WFAA now broadcasting local news in HD {Engadget HD}

Feb 4th 2007 11:59PM Too bad these guys are notorious for lousy picture quality and reception. Belo bought all their HD gear really really early and got 1080I stuff, but ABC broadcasts in 720P so they mess with the nationwide feed when they transmit it, and the results are about as great as TNT HD.

BenQ's BW1000 Blu-ray Disc recorder for PCs hitting Japan: writes 50GBs for less {Engadget}

Dec 19th 2006 10:55AM Oops, I forgot to note the Lite-ON isn't dual layer. However, the Panasonic and Sony models are, and are both available for $50-100 less than this drives current price.

BenQ's BW1000 Blu-ray Disc recorder for PCs hitting Japan: writes 50GBs for less {Engadget}

Dec 19th 2006 10:41AM Newegg and ZipZoomFly already have the Lite-On 2X Blu-ray burner in stock for $600 US with free shipping. It's Serial ATA and comes with the player software too, I'm so close to ordering one. The other two fairly cheap released US models are the 2X Panasonic which can be found for $650, and the 2X Sony which can be found for $700. Basically, even if that price includes Japan's 5% VAT, the drive isn't that tempting.
