How would you change Sony's PlayStation 3 Slim? {Engadget}
Oct 31st 2009 5:48AM Sony removed PS2 backwards compatibility because the PS2 is still selling more units than the PS3, and they would rather you own two physical systems than one that does the job of both...
How would you change Sony's PlayStation 3 Slim? {Engadget}
Oct 31st 2009 5:44AM Include an HDMI cable or Component Video Cable my television does not even support the included composite audio video cable that comes bundled with the PS3 Slim... include a BD remote since most people that I know that own them use them as BluRay players and rarely play games on them... a minimum of $50 in additional hardware purchases just to get it working out of the box is a bad marketing idea come on Sony get with the times, a high definition system bundled with a standard definition cable is just plain dumb.
The only other thing I am planning to do with mine is to upgrade the hard drive, but I am waiting for a 1TB 9.5mm, although the 12.5mm should fit I would rather not attempt it since the included is a 9.5mm
How would you change Snow Leopard? {Engadget}
Oct 3rd 2009 5:25AM I am running CS3 web premium and have not had a single issue since installing Snow Leopard. I also use iWork '09 for all of my office type applications.

Oct 3rd 2009 5:23AM I love Dock Exposé, I wish that they had come up with that earlier. It is finally nice to be able to see signal strength of the available networks on the airport menu bar drop down.
Truthfully the only thing that I would ask for is official Windows 7 support in Boot Camp. I had to download windows drivers from nVidia in order to get aero features to work. Other than that I am not really sure that I would change anything. Maybe fix a bug or two with iTunes but that is not an OS X snow leopard problem, that is an iTunes problem.
QuickTime X is a welcome change from the old version and thankfully there is no longer a need to pay to go to quicktime pro. Every thing else seems to work as it should.

Sep 26th 2009 7:24PM Hey Earthling, Understand what you are talking about before you make comments like "Do you also think DRM is fantastic?"
Read Steve Jobs open letter to the recording industry to see exactly where apple stands on DRM, Apple does not like DRM, nor do their consumers, it is the recording industry that insists upon it.
Video: DFI hybrid motherboard runs two whole systems... simultaneously! {Engadget}
Sep 19th 2009 2:21PM As a single user of multiple computers simultaneously I can see putting this Motherboard through its paces.
Use the Atom/ION for a low power HTPC, use the P45 for getting work done seems easy enough.
Vu1 Corporation sees bright future for ESL light bulbs {Engadget}
Sep 17th 2009 5:14PM personally I cannot stand the light that CFL's produce and will not use them.
Vu1 Corporation sees bright future for ESL light bulbs {Engadget}
Sep 17th 2009 5:11PM Not a thing about the longevity of the bulbs. That to me is very important when paying $20 to $40 per bulb.
Also ESL to me seems like old CRT technology with a shotgun approach, rather than a scanning electron beam.
I think that I will buy a bunch of incandescent bulbs and stockpile them so that I have a supply of them long after they are no longer made. Something to tide me over until better technology comes along cheaper...
I think that LED's will get better over time and will probably win out, I just don't think that the full spectrum of available LED colors is being used in bulb production, the current manufacturers seem to be using the Blue/Yellow filtered "White" LED's and they do get more blue over time because the yellow filter breaks down. Why not take the RGB approach and add in the other colors that are required to make a truer white, because every LED bulb that I have ever seen uses an array of LED's... Even throw in some IR and UV LED's to complete the sun like spectrum...
