Sony: Half of PS3 owners also have a PSP {PS3 Fanboy}

Nov 18th 2008 3:35PM I have both, and so does a friend of mine with a PS3.

Sony's Koller 'very interested' in Guitar Hero game on PSP {PSP Fanboy}

Nov 18th 2008 2:10PM Keep that crap on the DS. No thank you.

Guitar hero without the guitar is just lame. Period.

Holidaze 2008: PlayStation 3 SKU chart, revisited {Joystiq}

Nov 17th 2008 11:45AM As others have said - there's no difference between the two currently available models besides HD space. The chart is unnecessarily complicated by models that are no longer in production.

The real answer is - buy the $400 model and spend $100 on a 320 gig drive, if space is a worry, or spend it on games if it's not (and 80 gigs is plenty unless you plan on storing tons of your own media on the drive).

Worldwide PSP releases for the week of November 16 {PSP Fanboy}

Nov 17th 2008 8:58AM Eric - don't bash them too much. There's just nothing going on with the PSP lately. When Need for Speed: Another Dumb Subtitle makes for a good week, you know the platform is hurting.

Deal: Yggdra Union and R-Type Command for cheap {PSP Fanboy}

Nov 17th 2008 8:54AM Haven't played Yggdra Union, but $10 seems worth it for R-Type Command. I sort of regret paying more for it, though. The main problem being that there's pretty much zero story (what story there is - earth defenders fighting off alien invaders, is told in "captain's log" style text between fights, which mainly consist of the captain saying "oops, more aliens to fight!"). The battles are good and seem to be well balanced, but they all end up feeling pretty much the same. I stopped playing a third of the way through because there just wasn't anything new to see, and with no real story to unfold, there was nothing to push me to play more.

Still, I did enjoy the time I did spend playing it, and $10 is probably about right.

Apple VP says PSP is the 'past,' iPod is the 'future of gameplay' {PSP Fanboy}

Nov 12th 2008 3:21PM Slap some buttons on the iPhone and you might have something to say (I don't know how the hardware compares.... obviously most games on the iPhone right now don't have nearly the development time that most PSP games have).

Even *if* the iPhone somehow has as much power as the PSP, lack of buttons is a huge detriment. You end up having to give up screen real estate to put buttons on screen... and then why even bother having the thing?

Games purely on touch screens are very limited, which is why even the DS has buttons.

Joyswag: Fallout 3 (PS3) + survival guide {Joystiq}

Nov 5th 2008 5:25PM I was going to say my fiance. Generic female is a little too.... generic, though certainly better than not-a-female.

Red Alert 3 back on PS3, with 1080p and other 'really cool' PS3 features {PS3 Fanboy}

Nov 4th 2008 11:41AM +100. FFS, devs. The PS3 is the only console you can actually just give KB&M support to. There's absolutely no excuse not to, especially for something like this.

Worldwide PSP releases for the week of November 2 {PSP Fanboy}

Nov 3rd 2008 10:53AM Slow down? Has there been a deluge of great games that I missed? I keep waiting for SOMETHING to come out that's worth plunking money down for. Hell, I keep waiting for *anything* to come out at all. It's November, I should be getting seriously considering selling my kidneys to keep up with games... and instead we get one lame-o Tom Clancy POS? Come on!

Burnout Paradise scores 20k downloads on PSN {PS3 Fanboy}

Oct 31st 2008 10:46AM I'm about 10x more likely to buy a downloadable game than I am a disc game. Why? Because I can do it from my couch. Also, I love the ability to switch from game to game without getting up, taking out the old disk, putting it in its case, getting out the new disk, putting it in the PS3... Plus load times are faster, etc.

Resale value is only a small concern to me. Generally by the time I'm ready to sell a game, I can only get like $20 on ebay, if I'm lucky, and that's a lot of work. If the downloadable game is even $10 cheaper than the disk game, it's well worth it to me to get the downloadable.
