World of Goo has 90% piracy rate {Joystiq}

Nov 13th 2008 4:33PM It seems crazy that this game doesn't have a unique account system to prevent pirating, it seems ridiculous that people with pirate copies are posting to the leader boards. I grabbed the demo off steam and thought it was great, I just don't have any time to play it at the moment (haven't even finished the demo, it is quite challenge in parts anyway) but I'm sure I will end up grabbing it at some point. I just remember getting burned with Eternity's Child, I am more than happy to support the devs but that game and I just don't work.

Wheel of Time rolling onto video game scene {Joystiq}

Nov 13th 2008 12:31AM Actually, I have read the whole series, I have also read many other series, which I am confident YOU haven't. I thoroughly recommend you broaden your horizons and see what you are missing out on. Total page-count is not the best measure of the scale of a series.

Wheel of Time rolling onto video game scene {Joystiq}

Nov 12th 2008 10:59PM Wheel of Time is perfect for an MMO, it's an endless meandering bloated and ultimately un-fulfilling exercise in book sales. They pretty much are the MMO of fantasy book series.

Joyswag: Fallout 3 Exclusive Survival Edition + Vault Boy puppet {Joystiq}

Nov 1st 2008 2:47AM Trained Attack Octopus. Yeah... I did that.

CMEL shows off 1mm-thick 25-inch HD OLED panel {Engadget}

Oct 29th 2008 11:58AM Chi Mei make some pretty good monitors and were one of the brands, at least in Aus, that drove down the price of ~22" widescreens. Good to see another brand not just rolling out panel after panel but actually innovating and pushing some competition.

THQ sues Activision Blizzard over box art {Joystiq}

Oct 27th 2008 6:09PM Carefully rendered? Looks more like he applied a blur filter and handed it back! Rediculous...

'BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams' teased in BioShock PS3 {Joystiq}

Oct 16th 2008 9:00AM Looking forward to it of course, will choose a platform when it comes out depending on what is most convenient for me, but am I alone in that I could seriously do without the subtitle? Just 'Bioshock 2' would have been nice, 'Sea of Dreams' is just annoying and cliche, not everything needs a subtitle, System Shock 2 for instance...

Crowd-monitoring humanoid helps lost mall patrons, likely freaks them out {Engadget}

Jan 26th 2008 9:42PM I don't think the actual desired outcome of this is to help lost people, I think it is quite clearly an exercise in testing their sensor array and collecting and collating data to perfect it. The helpful mall bot is a means to an end so maybe people should start looking at it like that. Frankly the research is kinda cool, a little scary but mostly cool.

MacBook Air doesn't have a user-replaceable battery {Engadget}

Jan 16th 2008 5:26AM I'm sure these will work just fine if you use them with iTunes for all your media instead of optical discs and Apple software which if you just extrapolate current trends I am sure will be digitally distributed soon enough.

As it stands this seems like hardware without a defined customer except for people who have to have the thinnest possible things on the planet.
