Star Wars Retrospective: Episode VI siths through the FPS titles {Joystiq}
Jul 10th 2008 4:56PM They covered Republic Commando in the episode covering games that were based on the prequel trilogy movies. It's a little weird and I'd actually maybe have preferred if they they just went in chronological release order instead of these strange categories.
How-to video details HDD installation process in Popcorn Hour's A-100 {Engadget HD}
Jul 8th 2008 10:25AM You wouldn't call it a DIY project to replace the ram in your computer or put in a new video card, so why is this a DIY project? It's a FEATURE!!! It's MADE for you to put a hard drive in it!
Sonic Unleashed footage gives us hope {Xbox 360 Fanboy}
Jun 20th 2008 2:42PM It looks like they're going the right way with this. It certainly looks more like one of the 2D Sonic games than one of the more recent ones. But I hope they go back and play some of them for a while longer. Anybody who has fond memories of Sonic 1-3 remembers that they were fast, but you didn't just blow through a level without stopping and backtracking and finding secrets and other paths. The challenge was knowing when to just blast through and when to slow down and avoid running right into an enemy. I hope this thing doesn't go 100mph the whole time. After too long it would feel like you're more riding a roller coaster than playing a game.
LG Secret viral ad aims for sexy, ends up squarely at creepy {Engadget}
Jun 18th 2008 10:47AM The ad was for the LG Secret. You know...the one mentioned in the title of the post and shown in the commercial. I agree that this ad does little to actually show you what the phone does, but to it's kind of stupid to say you don't know what the ad is for when they say it in the post.
Sorry, not to be overly critical.
New iPhone SDK build shows video playlists, portrait-mode playback {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jun 11th 2008 4:40PM Apparently the whole freaking world has no clue how to use a camera properly! How hard is it to see how much glare is in the screen? How hard is it to shoot again? How hard is it to MOVE five feet to the right?
Holy crap I can't take it!
Ask Engadget HD: What's the best HD media streamer? {Engadget HD}

Ask Engadget HD: What's the best HD media streamer? {Engadget HD}
Jun 11th 2008 12:19PM If you're just going for cost and ability to stream pretty much EVERYTHING, I recommend the Popcorn Hour A-100. I love mine. It's not as flashy or user friendly as many of the options out there, but it supports a bunch of streaming protocols (SMB, NFS, HTTP, UPNP AV), plays nearly every video format imaginable (H.264, MPEG-2, DivX, Xvid) in just about any containter (.mov, .mpg, .vob, .iso, .mkv), works as an NAS enclosure, and even has it's own torrent client.
God awful interface, though.
No Ken or Ryu in the Street Fighter movie {Joystiq}
Jun 11th 2008 11:12AM Seriously, I was quickly scanning to see if anybody left the comment that was burning through my soul! Thank you for helping me escape my torment!
How did this guy get the idea that Pyro was an original X-Man? Much less that it was JUST the three of them? Weird. It's not hard to find the original comics on the internet and confirm your info.
Antiquated hardware used to masterfully remix Radiohead's Nude {Engadget}
Jun 6th 2008 12:27PM You're joking, right? Since I used cassettes through about half of the 90s as well. And there's no way yo don't even know what it is...well...unless you're ten.
It feels very weird that the 80s are now considered ancient history to most high school students. That's was nearly half my life!
RIftVault - Spawn of Yojimbo and Delicious Library? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jun 3rd 2008 10:51AM Agreed. You can't even create your own kind of entry in this mess. True, Wallet isn't terribly flashy, but it does stick to a very Mac aesthetic. I get the feeling this thing was thrown together very quickly to appeal to Delicious Library owners.
What happens if I want to keep my Serial Numbers for my electronics? Or registration numbers for apps I've purchased? Wireless network keys? Email account servers and logins? Car VIN numbers? Social security numbers? I've got all of that and more in Wallet. Apparently the makers of this software think we've only got five kinds of secure information, and THAT'S IT!
Final Note:
It certainly sounds like they stole the sound effects from the login window from Star Trek. Am I the only one hearing this?
