MicroDisplay planning to shake up 1080p LCoS HDTV market {Engadget HD}

Dec 11th 2006 2:45PM I've seen these TVS, playing between Sony's 52" and 55" SXRD, and they look incredible. Sony's noise reduction is a bit better, but causes horizontal lines to look really fat and the leaves on trees to look shredded for some reason. The MicroDisplay LCOS sets show skin tones better.
Really though, all this talk of comparing the Sony/JVC sets againts MicroDisplay's products is useless; the MicroDisplay TVs are aimed at a completely different TV customer than somebody who can shell out $2k for a TV. This is a CRT-replacement, not a plasma-killer.
