Aug 24th 2008 7:51AM I have been following Ryan ever since he was in Gizmodo. I've found his writing style to be fresh, thoughtful and to the point. Sad to see him leaving Engadget but would love to see him emerge in another gadget/technology related blog/venture.
There are many favorite posts by Ryan - including the Engadget 1983(?) on how Engadget would appear in 1980s. All of his live blogs - particularly the Apple event ones.

Jul 10th 2008 8:11AM I usually use Google Maps turn-by-turn directions printed out along with Google Maps from my iPhone and obviously looking at the directions & signs posted on the road.
It has worked so far but has kinda limited as to how far I venture out to unknown places. Would help to get a GPS unit.
