TUAW Review: Podcaster {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 18th 2008 6:47PM If the obvious reason for the rejection is "that it would likely be a bandwidth hog on the network" then why didn't Apple make this VERY CLEAR to the developer who worked hard t create it? Instead, they said it "duplicates the functionality of iTunes."
Why would they lie? Their explanation sounds worse. I don't think there's much to read into here, they rejected it for the reason they said they rejected it.

TUAW Review: Podcaster {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 18th 2008 6:29PM If they rejected it because "APPLE IS GOING TO MAKE THE STOCK IPHONE/Native Itunes app (on the phone) WORK LIKE PODCASTER DOES IN THE NEAR FUTURE" that doesn't make their actions any less offensive. If anything, it's worse. And because Apple's in control of the App Store, it's anti-competitive.
What if Apple controlled software distribution for the Mac back in 1984, and rejected Photoshop because it competed with MacPaint?

I agree with your other complaints but this one isn't true. If you tap the arrow next to their name, their contact record comes up and the number called is in a blue highlight color. So you can see which of their numbers were used...

Apr 17th 2008 11:49PM Mike, yes, check out brett Ellis comment above, about using aliases to the appropriate folders in ~/Library.
@brett Ellis, that's a brilliant trick, thanks for sharing it!
Now if only the names of the .ics files resolved to the Event Description like they do in Spotlight, that'd be better. More importantly, it'd be nice to be able to sort by Event Date, and not the lesser informative "created" or "modified" columns.
I'll use this to more elegantly browse my iCal To Do's, though.

TUAW Interviews Mike Lee of Delicious Monster, looks at Delicious Library 2 {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jan 25th 2008 11:18PM The Amazon stuff is there because Delicious Monster hard codes in their Amazon Associates "trackback" code into the app. Any subsequent purchases result in them getting a small percentage / kickback. This should be disclosed more, I think. It'd also be nice if the user was allowed to turn this off if they wished, or be able to change the Associates ID to whatever they liked. After all, this isn't freeware.
While I'm wishing, the feature to sell my old crap only links to Amazon. I think Delicious Monster should let eBay in on that action too. That's where I sell everything and Delicious Monster could be a helluva lot more helpful in that regard.
