Sea Launch officially preparing for DirecTV 11 launch in March {Engadget HD}
Feb 14th 2008 9:03PM March 14th is the scheduled date for the AMC-14 launch on a Proton.
But it is not for new HD channels like DirecTV 11. It is a replacement for E3, a failing Echostar satellite.

Oct 18th 2007 10:31AM Why would no ATSC tuner be a "problem"? The HR21 is meant for DirecTV customers who can get their local HD channels from DirecTV. If they need an ATSC tuner then they should get the HR20 which has ATSC tuners.

Possible article of James Kim's clothing found in Oregon wilderness {Engadget}
Dec 6th 2006 12:23AM I live in Southern Oregon, about 40 miles away from the area where they are searching. Every couple of years someone ventures out on this road during the winter or late spring and gets stuck. The last time it was an extended family of 6 or 7 and they were "lost" for 17 days, but they had a motorhome and some food.
The area has lots of peaks and valleys. The main road winds through the mountains following a river to the coast. Most of the road is just a single lane with some turn outs. There are also many spur roads that branch off going nowhere in general, some are miles long some just a couple 100 yards. Many are old logging trails, but when the snow covers the gound many of the trails start to look like the road. It is easy to get off the main road and get stuck with no where to turn around.
This is why it is so difficult to find people that are stranded out there. There are too many trails that branch off. Too many place to search. Too many little valleys.
I have been over the road many times, but from November to late April, I would never consider this road as a way to travel to the coast.
By the way, it gets dark here about 4:30. In the canyon where they are searching it is probably dark much earlier.
