Wii is 'most expensive board game on Earth' {Nintendo Wii Fanboy}

Nov 9th 2008 2:49PM Ugh...here it goes again. Look, we all know that most of the gaming press does not like the Wii and tries, at every turn, to put it down and they love to say that Nintendo is ignoring the 'hardcore' gamer. Just what the hell is a 'hardcore' gamer anyway? I know lots of people who have the Wii and they ALL play it regularly, most of them play it everyday. I'm considering buying a second one so I can play what I want and my son play what he wants.
Most of the Wii critics appear to be PS3 fans, including most of the game reviewers. I doubt there is an unbiased reviewer, 'reporter' or whatever out there.
If no one buys Wii games, then why do they consistently show up in the top ten, twenty and fifty sales lists? Why is the 'attach rate' so high? Why? Because Wii owners really do play the damn things and buy new games.
Give it a rest people.

Engadget Podcast 117 - 11.07.2008: Zune giveaway edition {Engadget}

Nov 7th 2008 2:12PM Cool...I'd love this so I can retire my 30gb BROWN Zune.

Zune 80GB price cuts, Zune 120GB and 16GB hitting shelves early {Engadget}

Sep 14th 2008 1:48PM Ok, I can't type... That second sentence should be:
IF YOU put YOUR own music on your computer/mp3 player, isn't that music what you want and like?

Sep 14th 2008 1:44PM Ratings? I tell you, that has always baffled me. I YOU put YOUR own music on your computer/mp3 player, isn't that music that you want and like? Why would you put music on your devices that you don't like at all or just tolerate? Isn't the point of a personal player to put the content on it that you like? Enlighten me, please.

Sep 14th 2008 1:36PM Hmm..Yeah, the new machines are out and the model that is being replaced is reduced in price to get them out of the pipeline. Nothing unusual. No different than Toyota or Nissan reducing prices on the '08's because the 09's are out. Seems pretty easy to understand.

One in three new Vista machines downgraded to XP {Download Squad}

Aug 23rd 2008 7:51PM Yeah, this is pretty bogus. And to all of those who spout the slow business adoption...http://www.betanews.com/article/Windows_XP_Adoption_Rates_Slow/1118943913
That article was posted in Jun of 2005. At that time, there was still a 48% usage rate of Windows 2000. FOUR years after XP was released. Vista's just fine.

Ten ways OS X rocks {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 14th 2008 5:08PM Umm...from this Windows user perspective, it is NOT obvious from first glance as to how to start an application that is not on the desktop. You are presented with icons on the desktop-much like Windows-but after that...a misplaced menu bar that, seemingly, has nothing to do with the desktop until you click it. "FINDER", which I would expect to bring up something like EXPLORER, instead brings up system related stuff. Nothing in the menu starts an application. No, you are supposed to click the little 'Finder' icon on what appears to be the task bar but is really something called 'the Dock.' Huh? At least in Windows (prior to Vista, anyway) there was something called 'START'. Now, even Vista muddies the water a bit by replacing 'START' with an orb. WTF?

Last day to purchase Windows XP {Big Download Blog}

Jul 1st 2008 12:11AM It's about time we bury XP. Try as you might, XP will never be as stable or secure as Vista. It is ugly as sin and a dog. Let it go, people. Let it go.

Bill Gates: top ten greatest hits (and misses) - the Microsoft years {Engadget}

Jun 27th 2008 4:37PM Vista can hardly be considered a failure. It's a failure only in a biased tech press and a few incompetent bloggers who could not figure out how to get their printer to work.. I've yet to have one piece of hardware not work. Even the 10 year old Creative WebCam works. Again, folks seem to forget that: XP was considered a buggy and bloated OS as late as late 2006. Corporate adoption was slow and did not really take off until late 2005. Hell, the Fortune 500 company that I work for only adopted XP LAST YEAR. It was NT4 and Window 2000 prior. People considered XP's hardware requirements as demanding and expensive. Sound familiar?

Wii Fanswag: Win some games from Atari {Nintendo Wii Fanboy}

Mar 22nd 2008 4:27PM My favorite Atari game? It is a tie: Asteroids and Yar's Revenge.
I think Asteroids might just edge ahead.
