FCC net neutrality rules enter drafting process, face McCain challenge {Engadget}

Oct 23rd 2009 10:23AM Amazing how this corporation bashing keeps on going. They provide the bandwidth to use this site...this site is a corporation...how far are you (all) going to go with corporation bashing. Let restrictions loose and you find some of the bigger corporations will find more competition from smaller corporations. Some regs keep them where they are at.

I am not a big corporation basher either...they employ a lot of people. None of you have had a small business go big business and have no idea what the troubles are...most small businesses sell out for that very reason or they build a small business to sell as their goal. Not many have done what Microsoft has done...keeping the same CEO/Chariman (until recent years) and being successful (hate them or love them, they are successful).

Big business and small business are different because the market scope(vertical/horizontal)/management structure(delegation) changes somewhat (usually a lot concerning management) AND what else changes...that's right, regulations.

So for those that hate the free market...it is what helps keep you free. We all are small/big business (if you have a job) unless you work for the government.

CodexNovus intros new DML / DMS media servers {Engadget HD}

Jun 23rd 2008 10:47AM I want to know how these are designed. I know these servers (from the case design), I have seen them before with desktop processors and the worst of class RAID controllers in them.

It could be that the case is the same and the rest is different, but if not, these servers are poorly constructed and will be susceptible to failure.

Ask Engadget: What's the best Tablet PC? {Engadget}

Jun 6th 2008 9:24AM Toshiba?

I have the Portege M105, pretty old now, but I really like the size and it's lasted this long....that's saying something. Check out the R500.

You are going to pay for quality.

Santa Fe group allergic to RF wants WiFi banned {Engadget}

May 25th 2008 9:56AM Natural selection in progress :). They are not specific either; are they affected by 2.4GHz or 5GHz or both? Why not 900MHz or did they include that in their complaint? Do they use bluetooth and does it affect them at all? :)

Poll: What's your favorite HD movie channel? {Engadget HD}

May 23rd 2008 11:15AM I used to think HDNet, but now I refuse to pay for the channel only because of Mark Cuban. He hates the United States, so he no longer will receive my money.

I sometimes watch TNT HD and the others I cannot comment either because I do not pay for them or have no reason to watch...their content is lacking anything interesting.

Microsoft slammed by European Commission with $1.35b fine {Engadget}

Feb 27th 2008 10:27AM They are not slamming them, it's these decisions that make the cost of doing business higher in these regions. They are trying to make them responsible by placing the cost where it belongs. If you want more regulation and rules, it will cost more, IT ALWAYS DOES. The only monopolies I would ever even CONSIDER regulating are natural monopolies, not these. Just come up with a better alternative and the people will regulate them all day.

And don't give me that Linux is better... It's more than just about a Kernel and OS design; although they are certainly important and fundemental. Microsoft gets that and Linux "community" doesn't.

Top ten things to do with your now-defunct HD DVD player {Engadget}

Feb 21st 2008 8:46AM For what I see here and the way I see British deal with issues concerning "offensive weapons" and with so many upset HD-DVD owners, it might be good to have a HD-DVD player/media amnesty. You never know, they might get violent and take it out on a Blu-ray owner.

We should probably take away knives, forks, spoons, chairs, lamps, board-with-a-nail-in-it, and consider surgically removing their knuckles too since they all "could" be danagerous in/on the hand of a HD-DVD supporter/owner.

Blu-ray owners, I suggest you carry if you got 'em ;)

Spy bill passes Senate with carrier immunity {Engadget}

Feb 13th 2008 9:25AM Quite simply, he is not a Terrorist, but a Socialist/Communist. I think he's a decent person, but he is what he is. But thankfully this is a not a vote for high school president, right, or the most popular person would win..........which would be scary, because we could end up with a Communist as President. Not that I like the alternative, but McCain is what a Democrat used to be. So this coming election we have a Democrat (if it's McCain) or a Communist (both Hillary and Barak are Communists, so does it matter which one makes it?).

I am glad someone brought up the UK.. They are socialists trying to appease the criminals and Terrorists (they are JUST LIKE the Democratic Party in what they want to do to this Country). The Brits have banned KNIVES for heaven sake! They had a knife amnesty...people turning in the last weapon of defense they were allowed to have. That Country is in Great trouble. Now, we have some socialist states right here in the USA, like NJ. But we should see NJ as an example of how bad it will get.

And addressing the core argument here on this article: Correct me if I am wrong, but while reading the Constitution, I just cannot seem to find the Right to Privacy anywhere (and yes, I have read the Amendments too). Can someone help me find that? Thanks!

Democratic presidential debate exclusively in HD, on HDNet {Engadget HD}

Nov 30th 2007 2:16PM CNN is HD...that just happened...but it was the Rep. debates. And it had YouTube [plants] as well. I hope the same is kept for this debate; we'll see if that anti-American Mark Cuban (and he crew) properly vet out the plants or lets them on.
