Who in their right mind would buy a Blu-ray player right now? {Engadget HD}
May 3rd 2008 1:54AM Still could case less about Blu-Ray. DVD is good enough for me. It's cheap, it works, and it's not completely DRM infested. I still hope it fails.
Managed Copy to be sorely absent from finalized AACS specifications? {Engadget HD}
Apr 23rd 2008 12:01AM With no HD DVD Competition, why bother. They want you buying the SAME MOVIE more then one time. The more the better. Like anyone with half a brain didn't see this one coming a mile away. Yet another reason why I won't have anything to do with Blu-Ray. I'll be sticking with DVD's for years to come.

RCDb's BD Live Platform: one more option for creating interactive content {Engadget HD}
Apr 22nd 2008 11:54PM Who cares, No one on the Blu-Ray camp care about extra next gen features, all they care about is the Movie. They've stated that enough times. So really, who cares about this news. Well I seem to be the first one posting here, so I guess No one.
Shocker: Blu-ray sales way up year-over-year {Engadget HD}
Apr 22nd 2008 11:51PM I could care less about Blu-Ray and will have nothing to do with Blu-Ray. It's just not worth it. I'll be sticking with DVD's for years to come and adding to my large collection. I still don't know anyone personally with a PS3 either?!?! Wii Yes, 360 Yes, PS3 NO! I hope Blu-Ray dies!!!
Analyst: PS3 to lead Blu-ray installed base until 2013 {Engadget HD}
Apr 22nd 2008 11:45PM I could care less about Blu-Ray, and will have nothing ever to do with Blu-Ray. I plan to stick with DVD's for years to come! Blu-Ray is not worth it.
Furutech's HDMI-xv1.3 cable makes Monster seem low-end {Engadget HD}
Apr 21st 2008 10:42PM HAHAHAHA, Only suckers would waste their money of this garbage. There are a lot of suckers buying MONSTER though, so I guess some people out there think the more you spend the better. The logic just doesn't work on everything, and cables are one of them. Really if you have the money to throw away on this crap, Buy a cable from someplace like Monoprice and with the majority of money you save, Donate it to a good cause!

Next generation Xbox 360 with built-in Blu-ray coming in 2008? {Engadget HD}
Apr 2nd 2008 12:18AM I'm giving the 360 a 6 year lifespan this generation before the next system is released, but I also think MS will continue to sell the 360 for awhile at the same time doing the same thing as Sony. MS not going to just quickly kill the 360 off like they did with the Xbox. So I say we'll hear about the new system sometime late in 2010, and the next system will be released November 2011. So there's still just over 3 1/2 years to go. MS is now making a profit on the 360, they need to keep it up and make up some of the loss on the Xbox. MS is just not going to rush out the system until it's been really tested out this time. I don't think MS wants another major RROD problem.
There's also ZERO reason to have a Blu-Ray drive built in the 360. Again, it would only be used for movies anyway, but more Importantly, the 360 actually a lot of great, fun games to play that Blu-Ray Movie playback really isn't that important unlike the PS3. How many of them PS3's are actually hooked up to a HDTV? It's already been Reported that only around half even pay to watch HD content on their HDTV.
I still say Blu-Ray end the end will also fail. DVD is cheap and good enough for more people. Unless you have a really, really large screen, then maybe Blu-Ray would make for since in that case. DVD's work on ALL SDTV and HDTV's, Blu-Ray is only good for HDTV's, of half of those owners, are still only watching SD content. I won't have anything to do with Blu-Ray, I plan to stick with DVD's and get my HD content from my HD Comcast Box. Wither it's Regular HD programming from CBS,ABC, ect, or HD On Demand, even HD PPV. Or Xbox LIVE. Going Blue is just not worth it.
By the time the next system is released, Blu-Ray may be dead or doing about as good as SACD and DVD Audio and MS may end up going with a totally different format. You'll be lucky to see a Ad-On Blu-Ray drive for the 360, and it'll be a cold day in hell before you find one built in! There's just ZERO reason for it.
Format war's end to propel Blu-ray into 29 million homes this year {Engadget HD}
Mar 27th 2008 12:23AM Sorry, longer then I wanted it! Looks longer squeezed in narrow columns. Still it's what I believe.
Format war's end to propel Blu-ray into 29 million homes this year {Engadget HD}
Mar 27th 2008 12:21AM As a early HDTV adopter, a Movie buff with a collection nearing 400 DVDs and HUD DVDs, I have ZERO interest in Blu-Ray. I will never Rent, Borrow, or Buy a Blu-Ray Movie disc EVER! PERIOD. I could care less about a Rushed out way to early Beta DRM infested format. If I can't have the lower cost, finished product that was HD DVD, I'll stick with DVDs. When I get my new HDTV, then I'll get a nice new Up-converter DVD player since those are worthless right now without a HDMI connection because of DRM that my older HDTV just doesn't have. With prices of DVDs these days, at $5 for something new and looks good enough I'm fine with sticking with DVDs. I still don't know a single person with either a PS3 or a Blu-Ray player. I haven't even seen a single Blu-Ray movie in a persons hand at any store selling them.
DVD players and movies are so cheap and look and sound good enough for the majority of people out there. Blu-Ray is limited only to those that have a HDTV unlike DVD. Even if that person has a HDTV doesn't mean he's even getting HD programming, let alone will buy a Blu-Ray player. DVDs play everywhere. People have Multiple players in the home, In the Car, Portable. Would you really need a HD movie in your car or portable player on it's small screen? NO, so what is someone going to do, buy a DVD version and a Blu-Ray version? I don't think so. VHS to DVD was a huge leap in picture quality and sound, but most important, no freeken rewinding of the tape. DVD to Blu-Ray? A little better picture and sound if you have a nice large HDTV! People around hear don't seem to care about next gen features also, so really why would the general public buy a $400 player for the 1 room in the house to play $25-$35 HD movies on that 1 HDTV when most really don't care that it's slightly better looking and sounding a bit better?
Blu-Ray will NEVER, EVER beat DVDs in sales. It will never come close to beating DVDs in sales. It'll be lucky to still be around a couple years from now and that's only because of the PS3. If it wasn't for the PS3, Blu-Ray would already be dead! So for the 3 consoles, we have the PS3 Blu-Ray movie player, the Wii Sports player, and the 360 Gaming system! As for Blu-Ray, who cares.
Doesn't matter how much you say it's going to happen here for Blu-Ray, it just isn't going to happen in the real world. Costs to much and it's not even a finished product. Sales aren't going to greatly increase this year, it'll be lucky if it happens at all next year. With Digital Distribution to also compete against, Blu-Ray is done for and it just doesn't know it yet.
