AMD Live! to support HD DVD / Blu-ray in Q3 2007 {Engadget HD}
Dec 29th 2006 4:16PM Q3 07? ouch
Is it just me or does it not already work with any fast processor, hd-dvd or blu-ray drive and special version of powerdvd?
Mossberg harshes on Comcast's DVR (and says something or other about TiVo Series3) {Engadget}
Dec 29th 2006 4:02PM The sony is a single tuner unit, and it doesn't have the additional features of the TiVo, so I guess what you meant to say was that the HDD-250 does everthing the cable company box does but record two shows at once.
Fyi, the S3 gets OTA HD as well. Hope you are happy you got it early, because that and the monthly fee is the only thing it has over the TiVo S3.
btw, I picked mine up on ebay for $600
Ken Kutaragi sez: I "promise" an AV-centric PS3 {Engadget}
Dec 20th 2006 9:30AM Anyone else out there think that they already bought an A/V centric PS3?
They were promising a digital media center for your living room, and that is what made it worth the $600, because it sure as hell wasn't the launch titles.
So does that mean the March update won't make my PS3 work as well with media as an original xbox?

How-To: Upgrade your Series3 drive {Engadget HD}
Nov 16th 2006 6:47PM The whole drive thing is related to a special connector (the Secure Connect) that WD includes with some of their drives.
The difference in the TiVo's cable and the secure connect is the tabs that slide into holes in the drive, the TiVo doesn't have them.
Here is a link to some more info on SecureConnect, which the Tivo does not use.
