Feb 6th 2007 2:22PM You're giving DirecTV way too much credit. All their "ViiV" announcments were for playing _computer_ media on their _DVR_. No HTPC integration there, and no hope at all on the horizon for a DirecTV tuner-on-a-card for HTPCs.
In fact, the software that allows a DirecTV DVR to be a "ViiV-enabled media adapter" is still in beta, doesn't work very well, and last I checked, not able to play video at all- just JPEG slideshows.

The only place to get any information on what the heck is going on with this clunker is a web forum where the "moderator" is a shill for DirecTV who toes their company line in exchange for free hardware and early access to software releases and release notes. What a pathetic random to sell your soul for.
If you dare disagree with him and his claim that the HR20 is the best consumer electronic device ever, he'll just ban you. Can't be scaring away new customers with all this angry talk!
Why should we put up with this third-person heresay masquerading as corporate communication? Why is it the best source of information on our DirecTV service isnt a DirecTV forum, or their CSRs, but some hokey web forum run by a buch of despotic halfwits?
