May 21st 2008 3:20AM I think the vast majority of posts on this subject are either mis-interpreted, mis-informed or just plain conclusion jumping.
And why do so many of you think that the first thing the governement of the UK is looking for is terrorists? Are most posters American (and before you jump down my throat I have nothing against Americans).
Data can be used in detection of many crimes or potential crimes.
But, as one poster has already pointed out, the UK government has tried to impliment many computer systems which never get off the ground. Just look at the debarcle with the patient records system, and if you can't impliment that then ........
