Oct 11th 2009 9:48PM Blu-ray Disc HTIB. Model # BDV-E500W for me. I'm anxious to hear the new HD audio (e.g. Dolby TrueHD). As well as reducing the clutter in my home theater system and the octopus behind it.

Ask Engadget HD: What's the best mainstream Blu-ray player? {Engadget HD}
Jun 3rd 2009 10:45PM I would go with the new Sony BDP-S360; Downloads in 6 seconds.
More studios move towards Blu-ray / DVD combo packs {Engadget HD}
Feb 23rd 2009 5:14PM I hate this idea. This is one of the things that rubbed me the wrong way when I supported HD DVD. Blu-ray Discs are expensive enough as it is and now they're going to add a SDVD version I will not use? Not to mention B.S. Digital Copies!
Are the movie studios really trying to promote BD, or, just rape us at the cash register/check out page?

Poll: Where do you buy your Blu-ray Discs? {Engadget HD}
Jul 12th 2008 8:39PM "Who needs to buy when you have NetFlix?"
People who like having a physical media library.
People who like a movie enough to watch it repeatedly.
Sure, it costs more than renting, but, if you watch a movie enough times it'll pay for itself. If you have the resources, buy all you want.
Poll: Where do you buy your Blu-ray Discs? {Engadget HD}
Jul 12th 2008 3:18PM Who would be foolish enough to buy Blu-ray Discs retail? Provided they have access to the internet.
Amazon all the way!
Ask Engadget HD: Which HD DVD player should I pick up for the holidays? {Engadget HD}
Dec 19th 2007 10:32PM I upgraded from a XA2 to an A35. Although everyone brags about the XA2 (Reon HQV Chipset), the A35 (Anchor Bay Technology's ABT Chipset) is actually better at upconversion than the XA2. There really IS a difference. Standard DVD's look so close to hi-def on the A35 you'd swear your watching an HD DVD. Not so on my old XA2.
I'd go with the A35 or A30. Latest technology for less $$$ than the XA2.
