RealD figures designer glasses might help the acceptance of 3D {Engadget HD}

Sep 19th 2009 12:14AM I agree. I just paid $4000 for laser eye surgery to also not wear glasses anymore.

Can you imagine how much these designer glasses are going to cost? Prescription lenses glasses cost me over $300 a year (That was with insurance, since I had a high prescription and astigmatism). I can see these being ridiculously expensive since insurance companies will not pay for something that is essentially not needed.

iTunes 8 kills AirTunes, iPod touch causing BSOD {Engadget}

Sep 10th 2008 10:03AM Agreed, Genius has been an epic fail. I tried it on Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" and I got songs from the White Stripes and Violent Femmes. It really is just a way for Apple to sell you more songs on iTunes.

Dell Precision and Latitude E series hands-on {Engadget}

Aug 12th 2008 3:09PM Yes, because when I think Dell laptops, I think about Obama

Dell Vostro 2510 laptop pops up in flier, $899 for Core 2 Duo and 256MB GPU {Engadget}

Jul 31st 2008 11:14AM Really? Cause business laptop to me means something that's small and lightweight yet sturdy enough to withstand the rigors of travel. I don't think I've ever been in important meetings where everyone was huddled around one laptop screen. You may want to look into something called a projector.

Report says Nextel waived early termination fees for the government {Engadget}

Jun 13th 2008 4:18PM Rob,

As George said, you really don't know much about the government. I'd also like to point out that many of those who do get phones assigned to them are usually higher ups (manager/directors), not your average government worker. Here in DC especially, these guys are appointed by the presidents office. Guess what happens when Obama/McCain get into office? That's right, new appointees. It would make no sense for the governemnt to shut off all those phones and have to pay a fee.

Vizio supplier says it paid MPEG-2 patents {Engadget}

Jun 11th 2008 6:14PM Dave,

Don't be a dick and stop being a grammar nazi. This is a freaking blog, not a research paper.

The average Joe doesn't care about contrast ratio or black levels, they just want to upgrade from their old CRTs and Vizio (and Westinghouse) provide an affordable alternative to many people. What's wrong with that? Plus once you take one home and fine tune them, they look decent enough. $550 for a 32" LCD is a lot easier for many people to stomach vs. $800-$1200 for a Sony branded LCD. I know many people who would love to get an LCD but can't afford those high prices, yet I don't look down on them just because they don't notice a major difference in picture quality. BTW I own two Bravias and consider myself a videophile, but atleast I'm not some snobby elitist.

Joystiq impressions: Wii Fit mini-games {Joystiq}

Apr 15th 2008 11:26AM $90? That's a bargain considering that I can now cancel my $50 a month gym membership. I can just play for this for an hour a day and be healthy.

Seriously, Wii Sports and this are a joke. I've played Wii Sports and if you actually get tired from this crap then you need to go out and excersice more. (Not counting old people though, because we know how this is such a huge hit with those hardcore senior gamers.)
