Nov 5th 2009 3:21PM I still sort of miss HD DVD. Nothing against Blu-Ray, but the disc size issue was pretty much irrelevant, and HD DVD sure seemed to be a lot more consumer friendly with more features (well, at the time...looks like Blu-Ray has finally caught up) and no region lockouts.
Shrug. Not a big deal either way, but it's still annoying that the "wrong" format won.

Beatles Rock Band DLC cost a ton to develop as well, but - holy crap! - they didn't raise prices. While it's obviously not the same process, the general principle is the same - development costs rose significantly, but only one of the companies raised prices.

I'm not even saying I like it - I much prefer disc media. But physical media is going to be slowly phased out. MS doesn't have to do anything with Blu-Ray if they don't want.
